With y/n's nails freshly painted and the new addition on her finger, the two girls sat on the couch for the rest of the day, watching every single episode of the show. They were so entranced by it to the point where they didn't notice that the sun had fallen down.

However, when they did realise, the two parted again to go to bed. Although, neither of them were particularly tired due to the lazy day they had.

Despite the fact y/n wasn't tired, the night was perfect for sleep. The temperature was cold, but not unbearably cold, and there was no noise around the cabin whatsoever.

She buried herself in the thick blanket and sighed in relief, knowing she was about to get a full night of a comfortable and quiet sleep

However, not long after closing her eyes, the silence was shattered and her hope for a good sleep faded. It was a small and faint - almost unnoticeable - noise, but it still hit her ears with a force that was too impactful to ignore.

She pushed herself up into a sit, almost as if it would allow her to hear a lot better. The faint noise spewed from wanda's bedroom at the end of the hallway and, even though the hallway was barely lit, y/n didn't hesitate to search for what it was.

Trying to remain as quiet as she could, y/n crept down the hallway before stopping at wanda's bedroom door after hearing a sniff coming from her room. In that moment, she mentally begged - pleaded - that the noise wasn't what she thought it was, then she opened the door.

The opening in the door allowed a slither of light to fall into the room, highlighting exactly where the noise was coming from; which was, as she expected, wanda.

There wanda was, curled over in a slump, her head dug deep into the covers as if it would muffle the sound of the pained sobs she was letting out.

"Wanda?" Y/n looked at her on the bed, almost in disbelief, "What's wrong?"

When wanda realised she wasn't alone in the room, her head shot up to look at y/n. The light faintly shone on her face, displaying the tears that had been smudged onto the cover.

"Y/n." She tried to cover up the fact that she'd been crying, "I'm sorry if I woke you up." She apologised, wiping her tears, "go back to bed, it's a perfect night."

Realising that wanda was holding back the urge of confession, she assured her, "you can tell me what's wrong, wanda, you know that."

She shook her head and gulped, "I really don't want to talk about it." Then she looked down at her hands as she fidgeted, "please, go back to bed, y/n, I didn't mean to wake you."

Although wanda wanted her to go back to bed, y/n couldn't physically leave where she was. She was frozen in place, looking at wanda with a heartbroken look on her face and a sympathetic ache in her heart.

When wanda looked back up to see that y/n hadn't moved a muscle, she furrowed her brows. Y/n sighed lightly and made her way over to the end of the bed, where she then sat down.

She crossed her legs and sat right in front of wanda with her back facing her, but she didn't give any reasoning as to why she did that, which confused wanda.

"What're you-." Wanda began to ask.

"Plait my hair." She cut her off.

She paused, wondering if she heard it right, "What?"

"You keep saying how I should let you plait my hair, so do it." She shrugged.

Wanda shook her head, "This isn't gonna get me to talk, you know?"

"I'm not gonna make you." She nodded, "Just plait my hair... in silence."

It took a few moments for wanda to compose herself, but after a while, she did. With a sigh, she pushed herself as close to y/n as she could get and began running her fingers through her hair.

After raking through y/n's hair, wanda took a few strands of it in her hands and began slowly guiding them into a plait. As wanda continued plaiting the hair, y/n closed her eyes to get comfortable in preparation for the long night she was willing to have.

When wanda realised that y/n was willing to sit in silence for as long as she needed her to, she sighed deeply, "I'm so tired." She began opening up.

Even though y/n was glad wanda was opening up, she didn't move, she didn't talk, she didn't react in anyway in case it would interrupt her.

"But every time I close my eyes, I'm reminded of everything I've lost and everything I've done." She continued plaiting y/n's hair as she spoke, "I haven't slept for a full night in so long, and it's becoming unbearable. I'm so scared that when I wake up in the morning, I'm going to be entering another painful day."

"Staying up isn't going to stop the next day from coming." Y/n explained, feeling the way wanda's hand slowed down as she listened, "I cant say I understand what you've been through... but I do know what it's like to not want to wake up to another day." Y/n turned around to face wanda, her hair falling from wanda's hands and onto her back, "just promise me, wanda... you'll try and go to sleep. And in return, I promise that I will make tomorrow something to look forward to."

Although she was still aching inside, wanda nodded, not wanting to let y/n down, "okay. I promise."

Y/n smiled softly as she stood up from the bed, and wanda then watched her slowly walked over to the door. Y/n looked at wanda one more time but she didn't say 'goodbye', she didn't say 'goodnight', she just dropped her head and gently shut the door.

The moment the door closed, wanda balled her fists around the cover and buried her face in it, allowing her cry to be muffled in the softness of the quilt.

A yell escaped her, but, of course, it was blocked by the sound of the thick cover that was pressed against her mouth. Tears seeped from her eyes and into the fabric for moments while she was alone, until the door opened with another click which alerted her once again.

She moved her head up when the door opened, furrowing her brows at the visitor, "Y/n, what're you-."

"Did you really think I was gonna let you go to sleep alone after you told me that?" She cut her off to sarcastically ask, cradling the large red blanket in her arms.

With the recent tears drying on her face, wanda smiled and let out a small sigh in relief.

"Have some faith in me, wanda." Y/n smiled softly to her as she began walking around to the other side of the bed.

Wanda giggled softly, pulling back the cover where y/n clearly planned on laying. Y/n smiled at wanda's giggle and laid on the bed, pulling the red blanket over onto it with her.

When y/n was lying down, wanda placed the cover back over onto her, then y/n put the red blanket over the both of them, allowing them to be as warm as possible.

Moments past and the two lied side by side in the darkness, their bodies tucked nicely under both the blanket and the cover.

Although they were seemingly comfortable, Y/n could feel the tenseness in wanda radiating from her as she rested in the bed beside her. Apart from the one idea she had in her head, she didn't know what else she could do to calm her down. So, because she had no other ideas, she went with her only one.

Without saying anything, she gently moved her hand under the covers until it stopped the second it made contact with wanda's.

She heard the quiet hitch in wanda's breath upon the contact, but didn't feel wanda pulling her hand away. After their hands were touching slightly, y/n clenched her jaw and took wanda's hand in hers.

Wanda's hand slotted perfectly into y/n's, and the feeling of her whole body relaxing was rewarding to her. Their fingers intertwined and y/n traced her thumb round in circles on wanda's hand as if it would help calm her down even more.

They both smiled in the darkness when the tense feeling left the room, allowing the two to fall asleep, hand in hand.
