The breeze lightly whistled, the birds happily chirped, and the sun shone on the roof of the cabin. The direction the sun was shining at allowed it to sneak through the front windows and highlight the area where the two girls were on the sofa.
They had barely moved since last night, which was a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing because it solidified the fact that they were even closer together, but the curse was that wanda had unknowingly made y/n's arm numb due to laying on, which, of course, they'd figure out once they woke up.
However, the two remained sleeping for a little while longer. Not much time past and they were still warm, tucked closely to each other, and sound asleep on the comforts of the couch.
That was, until, y/n began slowly stirring awake. Some of the light from the sun managed to sneak its way through the window and past the curtains, hitting her in the face with an uncomfortable force.
Taking in a large breath, y/n slowly opened her eyes, but she did not move her head at all. Her subconscious remembered that she had wanda leaning on her before the rest of her did, but she soon figured it out when she felt the aching pain coming from her arm.
As her hand was buried in the space between the two, it became so numb to the point where y/n wasn't exactly sure where it was. The upper part of her arm and her shoulder, where wanda's head was, held a heavy aching pain which was almost unbearable.
The sun still shone in the direction of her eyes, but she was able to move her head ever so slightly to make sure it wasn't burning into her pupils.
Wanda still laid there, breathing gently and slowly, her hair gradually shifting from her shoulder the more she inhaled. Her hair remained rising and falling until it finally slipped from her shoulder and landed in front of her face.
The faint twitch wanda's nose made due to the hair that rested on it soon became noticeable to y/n, so she decided that she'd have to make a move to stop it from bothering wanda - even if wanda didn't realise it yet.
Y/n's other arm stretched over and gently brushed the strands of hair away from wanda's face, lightly tucking it behind her ear.
The movement of her hair caused wanda to lightly shift awake, her eyes slowly fluttering until they finally opened with the sun's glow glazing them.
"Hi." Y/n laughed softly, looking down at wanda's tired face and messy hair.
Instinctively groaning, wanda rubbed her eyes, "god, what time is it?"
Y/n looked out the window at the sunlight shining down onto the area, then shrugged, "if I had to guess... I'd say 8am?"
As wanda slowly sat up straight, y/n let out a faint gasp at the irritated pain in her shoulder that she was reminded of once again. The second wanda released the pressure of her body from it, a spike of pain shot up through her arm, as if her body was begging her to help it.
Furrowing her brows, wanda asked, "what's wrong?"
"Oh..." she shook her head, trying to find a way to explain it without making wanda feel bad or responsible, "it's just you fell asleep on my arm last night, now I think it's dead." She explained, trying to bite back the pained groans she wanted to let out.
Wanda worried slightly, "can you move it?"
"Let's see." She inhaled as she tried to move her arm before the aching pain spiked through her arm. As a reaction, she grunted, digging her other hand into the cushions beside her, "Fuck, fuck, fuck."
"I'll take that as a no." Wanda answered her own question.
"Man down, man down." Y/n theatrically announced, not wanting wanda to feel uncomfortable, or even slightly guilty. It was her coping mechanism, almost, turning the situation into a joke. Luckily for y/n, wanda loved it about her.
Wanda chuckled while positioning a pillow gently under her arm, "oh, no. Whatever will I do without you?" She dramatically played along.
Y/n began clenching her fist to bring some life back into her arm, which began working. It was obvious to wanda that it was working as she saw the relaxation that was visible from her face.
"Okay, okay... it's coming back." Y/n muttered, but it didn't prevent the aching, "can you talk about something random so I don't have to focus on the ache, please?"
"Oh, yeah, sure." Wanda began thinking, "uh... so, I thought that we could take the rest of the cherries outside today and eat them out there."
"Like a picnic?" She asked, softly panting her way through the fading ache.
"Yeah, like a picnic." She smiled, "the weathers lovely, and I can get some more snack foods for us to have."
Even though her arm still stung with a pain, y/n couldn't help but feel completely comfortable inside with how excited wanda seemed to be.
"Ooh, wait." Y/n announced when she felt her arm returning to a painless state, "oh, thank god, it's going."
"Great, we're gonna be okay." Wanda sighed in relief.
Even if it seemed to be a mindless throwaway comment to wanda, y/n focused on it more than she should've.
"We?" Y/n thought to herself.
That was the first time y/n had properly heard wanda consider the two of them to be a one. At least, it was the first time it really hit her.
Her mind continued wandering, "There's a 'we'?"
Hearing the thought unwillingly ringing through her ears, wanda stared deeply, and longingly, into y/n's eyes with a loving look.
"Of course there's a 'we'" She spoke in her own head. It was a shame that only one of them could read the secrets within the mind.
Before the change of the two getting lost in each other's eyes grew beyond stopping, wanda lightly cleared her throat and spoke to break the tension filled silence.
"Is it good now?" She asked, her brows narrowing in concern.
Snapping out of her thoughts, y/n nodded, "yeah, yeah... it's alright."
"Good." Wanda smiled, "you already fucked your leg up, it would be a shame if you fucked your arm up too."
"Wow, okay, that's harsh." She jokingly shot back, accompanying a chuckle.
Wandas face lit up with a soft smile, which entranced y/n. No matter how hard she tried to, she was never going to be able to resist wanda's smile.
Although, y/n wasn't particularly set on trying to distance her self from wanda. Not anymore.
