Birds chirped quietly in the distance but the girls were both to cosied up beside each other to notice or be bothered by the noise. At some point in the night, their bodies had instinctively drawn together, almost to become one.
Y/n laid flat on her back, one hand stretched above her head while the other cradled wanda's lower back. Then wanda lied on her stomach, half on the bed and half on y/n's chest. Her head was comfortably rested on y/n's shoulder while her hand reached across to hug y/n's body.
Wanda didn't wake up in the night - not even for a second - and neither did y/n, of course. The first intentional bit of movement that came from either of the two was when y/n's eyes slowly opened to see the morning sun shining through the window.
She inhaled the morning and let it out with a deep sigh, expecting to see wanda leant against the headboard with a book in her hands, but that's not what she saw. In fact, she felt where wanda was before she saw it.
The gentle pressure of wanda's head pressed against her shoulder soon kicked in as she found herself to be more awake. Just by looking down at her sleepy face, y/n's heart warmed and her body relaxed.
That's when she realised something that she didn't consider until she mindlessly reminisced about the night before. Wanda had slept a full night.
It surprised her, at first, but she didn't want to give herself the reaction she felt in case it would wake wanda. So instead, she smiled proudly, just to herself. Because for the first time, in a long time, wanda didn't wake up once in the night, and y/n woke up before her in the morning.
Wanting to take advantage of the opportunity, y/n began slowly pushing herself off of the bed and out from underneath wanda. She made sure to pull the corners of the cover up as she did so to give to wanda, mostly so wanda would wake at the vacancy.
Subconsciously, wanda hugged the corner of the cover without realising it wasn't y/n anymore, which made y/n smile proudly to herself for a few moments. Satisfied with her exit, she crept out of the room and quietly closed the door behind her, where she then let out the breath she'd be holding.
Even though there was now a door which blocked the two, y/n still tried to be as quiet as she could, mentally praying that she wouldn't wake wanda before she could get her idea done.
With her hands loosely resting on her hips, she trailed over to the kitchen. She knew that she wanted to make a breakfast for wanda, but she didn't have an exact idea of she was actually going to make.
So, she didn't what she usually did and decided that she was going to just go with whatever she felt like whether it turned out well or not.
When the basics of the idea formed together in her head, she entered a state of full concentration, where her attention could not have been taken away by anything. What seemed like seconds to her were, in reality, minutes flying by. She didn't think that she had been out there for that long as she seemingly effortlessly pulled together a breakfast.
Meanwhile, back in the bedroom, wanda remained buried under the thick covers while her arms tightly gripped the corner she'd been given. Her deep sleep continued for longer than she ever thought it would due to how comfortable and safe she felt around y/n the night before - and in general.
When y/n finally broke out of her concentrated state, she realised how much time had past since she'd walked out then, which then made her realise that wanda had remained asleep during all of it.
Then, as she continued back into her concentration, she smiled to herself with the satisfaction of knowing she'd given wanda a comfortable night sleep, even if it was only for one night.
But, of course, it didn't take long for wanda to realise that y/n was no longer there anymore, and she instantly woke up.
While wanda pieced the situation together in her room, y/n remained meandering around the kitchen, humming faint songs to herself while trying to hurry to finish the breakfast she'd prepared for the two.
She had managed to stay quiet enough to keep wanda in her room for an impressive amount of time, but she knew she wasn't going to be able to last any longer when she heard the bedroom door opening.
Instead of being annoyed that she couldn't quite finish the breakfast, y/n smiled softly to wanda while watching her tiredly walk into the kitchen.
"How are you awake before me?" Wanda asked while yawning.
"Because, miss maximoff," she began explaining while organising the food onto the two plates she'd gotten out, "you had a full nights sleep."
When she realised that what y/n said was right, wanda smiled faintly to herself while watching y/n lift the two plates up.
"Do you want help with that?" She asked.
Y/n shook her head, "not at all. I want you to enjoy this morning without having to do any work." and she carried the two plates into the living room, where she then placed them on the coffee table, "come on, come sit."
Despite her furrowed brows, wanda couldn't help but love how she was being treated - especially by someone as important to her as y/n. So, she didn't hesitate to sit down on the couch and join y/n by eating the food.
The sun began pulling itself up even higher as time went by, while the two sat comfortably, side by side on the couch, each with a plate in their lap. There was a silence between the two as they ate until one of them cleared their throat to start a conversation.
"So," y/n hummed, "how was your sleep?"
"It was really good." Wanda smiled, to herself and to y/n.
She teased, "yeah, it looked like it."
Wanda squinted, "what do you mean?"
"When I woke up, we were practically hugging each other and your head was between my neck and shoulder." She explained, a smile lingering on her face, "you seemed pretty comfortable to me."
Feeling her heart racing in her chest, wanda tried her best to remain calm, even though she wanted to let out the biggest smile.
"Really?" She asked with a hint of sarcasm, even though she was overwhelming happy at what she'd just been told.
"Oh, yeah." Y/n chuckled softly to herself.
