The days seemed to breeze by the longer the two spent together. Two days had passed since wanda sewed the wound in y/n's leg, and it was healing really nicely. She hadn't had anymore trouble in the night with the cut bothering her due to wanda's surprisingly impressive sewing skills.
After removing the only logical reason y/n had to get to the civilisation, the two realised that they had many more days to spend together ahead of them. It's not that they were mad about it, because they weren't. Secretly, the two were overjoyed at the fact they had longer to try and get to know the other, but they never dared to tell the other person that.
To Wanda, y/n was still set on getting back to her regular life with her friends. She cherished the little moments where she forgot about the outside world, the moments where she and y/n looked into each other's eyes.
Then, to y/n, wanda was just being a gracious host. She didn't truly believe that wanda wanted her to stay because she liked her as a person, which was a usual feeling. The feeling of being a burden wasn't unfamiliar to y/n. In fact, it was one of the reasons why she didn't like unloading any parts of her life onto other people.
Since the last time the two had a moment to themselves, they avoided each other. Although, that was hard, considering the fact that the were restricted by the limitations of how small the cabin was.
They'd spent all that time since cautiously edging around what they suspected was a mutual feeling. It wasn't that they found it awkward or uncomfortable, because they didn't - not at all - but neither of them knew how to make a move.
It was quite ironic, really. Both of them felt something towards each other, but they both waited for the other one to make a move first. Of course, within their daydreams, they imagined confessing any feelings to the other, but it made them nervous, even if it was just a thought.
The weather had dried up nicely, allowing the mud to harden and the grass to stand tall. The wind in the surrounding areas had calmed down, releasing only a gentle breeze which moved the leaves on the trees.
There were few noises such as the occasional bird chirping, or the sound of the water rushing down the stream beside the cabin in order to get to the lake which rung through the cabin, but apart from that, it was quiet.
As the days faded into late July, the heat began to pick up. It wasn't too unbearably hot inside the cabin, which was lucky considering y/n hated the heat, but it was hot on the outside.
The sudden thundering rain which came the week before had left the area, almost as if it was making way for y/n and Wanda to see if they wanted to stay together, rather than had to.
Y/n woke up and stared at the ceiling for a good few minutes while her body adapted to being awake. She considered everything the two had been through so far to figure out if there was any chance that wanda could've liked her back. Every time she remembered a piece of evidence which suggested that she did like her back, she smiled to herself in the empty room.
Just like wanda did, she found herself lost in a trance of daydreams and scenarios. Each one was cuter than the last, ranging from watching killing eve on the couch, all the way to waking her up with kisses all over her face and neck. Her smile grew the longer she thought about these scenarios, becoming too strong to the point where she couldn't possibly hide it if wanda was to enter the room.
However, the noise wanda made leaving her room was noticeable to y/n, despite the seemingly impenetrable wall her brain put up to daydream.
When she heard the sound of wanda's door opening, she was jolted out of her daydream in order to pay attention to wanda. Staying alert, she sat up on the couch and turned her head to watch wanda walk out into the room.
"Good morning." Y/n smiled to her.
"Good morning to you, too." She smiled at the greeting, "coffee?"
"Yeah, that'd be great." She nodded, "thanks."
As wanda hummed her way away the kitchen to made the coffees, she asked, "did you sleep well?"
"I did, yeah." Replied y/n, "my legs been good, it's healed quite well."
"I knew it would, I'm good at that." She shrugged, hiding a smile on her face.
A soft chuckle left y/n for a brief moment, "I gotta say, you impressed me with your surgical skills."
"Believe me, I can be a lot more impressive than that." She bragged, looking down while stirring the coffees.
Y/n smirked and raised her eyebrows - once again - in surprise. Instead of sitting and waiting for wanda, she stood up from the couch and made her way over to her in the kitchen.
By the time y/n joined her, wanda had already made the coffees and held the mugs in her hand. She handed one to y/n, careful not to accidentally make her touch the burning hot sides of it.
She gently took the mug in her hands, sighing with comfort as the heat warmed the sides of the mug, then the palm of her hands.
As she sipped the hot coffee from the mug, her eyes stayed locked with wanda's. Wanda leant her body against the counter, cradling the mug in her hands while her eyes stayed on y/n, whereas y/n looked over the top of her coffee mug in order to make eye contact.
Maybe today would be different for them. Maybe today would be the day they'd realise that they both shared this feeling so they would be able to make what seemed like an unreachable desire into a reality.
