Chapter 18

A few days passed since then, and if someone suspected you for what you had done, there was no sign. Looks like you had gotten away, but you would have to use a different strategy next time.

It was already night and you were just relaxing a little before heading to bed when your phone suddenly lit up. You checked and saw that Shigaraki sent you a picture of an unconscious woman bleeding from her forehead.

'What's this????' You replied, feeling disturbed.

He replied back almost immediately.

'This is the journalist who keeps writing articles accusing you of things. You wanted to get rid of her, right?'

'Please don't send me that kind of stuff. '

Your eyes widened and your palm hit your forehead. Overhaul just messaged you too and you had accidentally replied to him instead.

'Sorry, I mistakenly sent the message to you.' You quickly followed. Messaging both of them at the same time was like walking on a minefield. You had to be extra careful.

Overhaul had invited you to lunch tomorrow during a vacant slot in your schedule. Oh boy. Did he want to talk about what happened last time?

He had already replied back to you before you could think of a response.

'Is someone bothering you? Let me know, and I will take care of them.'

'No, it's nothing like that. No need to worry. I have a lunch meeting, but if you'd like I can drop by after.'

You switched back to Shigaraki.

'It's up to you how you deal with her, just make sure it doesn't get linked to me. And you don't need to show me what you're doing, I don't doubt you.'

Overhaul finally replied.

'Yes, please come over tomorrow, there's something I wanted to speak to you about.'

Oh no, what could that possibly be? Did he somehow find out you met with the League of Villains recently? He didn't seem angry but you couldn't really tell over the phone. Maybe it was about last time, perhaps he wanted to explain what was going on with him and that woman. In that case, you wanted to hear him out.

"Sure, I'll see you tomorrow. Good night."

'Sleep well.'

Your phone buzzed again but it was Shigaraki who replied.

'Doesn't it make you happy to watch the people you hate suffer?'

'I don't hate her, she's just an inconvenience. I have to sleep now, so please don't send me anymore disturbing pictures.'

'I thought it would make you happy.'

'I'm happy that you're doing this for me.'

You blinked several times, wondering if you phrased your reply in an odd way. Hopefully that was not the case. After there was no reply for several minutes, you decided to bid him good night.

'If anything comes up just let me know. Good night.'

You deleted the conversation just to be sure and turned off your phone before letting yourself fall on your bed. What a mess. Your family and even your ancestors would disown you if they found out what you were doing. You shook your head. For now, your priority was finding out why Overhaul wanted to see you.

The following morning passed quickly and after your lunch meeting, you headed off to the Shie Hassaikai's residence. As usual, it was Chrono who escorted you but once you were inside, Overhaul dismissed him so the two of you could be alone.
