Summary: In this ending, reader will stay with Overhaul and continue their relationship.

The thoughts about your situation continued plaguing you and it was still hard to believe Kai was capable of something so horrifying. You felt like you had to do something about it but what actions could you even take to remedy this?

He had you right where he wanted you to be: trapped and dependent on him, and it had come to the point where you didn't know what you would do without him. If it wasn't for him, you would have been dead a long time ago. He would always take care of what needed to be done, even without you giving him the order. There wasn't anyone else who could protect you and complete your tasks like he did. And the worst part of all was that you still really liked him.

But it wasn't right to continue like this. You knew that the Shie Hassaikai was his pride and surely it would be futile to try to talk him out of it and change things, wouldn't it?

You thought back to the man he mentioned he felt indebted to, the reason why he was taking such lengths to restore this organization. You remembered him saying he was the former boss and Eri's grandfather and was put into coma so Kai could set his plan in motion without opposition, and wake him up once his plan had been completed. If Kai was willing to go this far, he must have been rather fond of that man. You wondered what he was like and what his relationship with Kai had been like before all this mess. He probably had been some sort of father figure to Kai.

You heard the soft knock on the door followed by the click of the door opening, revealing the man himself. The devil himself appeared as if your thoughts had summoned him.

"Do you wish to talk about it now?" He stopped several feet away from you.

"You mentioned that the former head of the Shie Hassaikai was Eri's grandfather... and that you owe him for giving you a home when you had nowhere to go." This was a key person in the young yakuza boss' life and you needed to know more in order to also understand him. "I'd like to see him."

"What for?" His brows briefly shot up in confusion before furrowing into an irritated expression.

"To help me understand why you are doing all of this."

"I already explained to you-"

"No, it's not enough. Please, Kai, help me make sense of all this. I want to know who is this man you are so devoted to repay. Help me get some peace of mind."

He thought for a moment before releasing a long sigh. "Very well. Follow me."

You couldn't help but feel elated that he was willing to share this important part about him with you.

He led you through the maze of corridors until reaching the room holding the former boss.

"Excuse us, Pops." Kai politely knocked on the door and allowed himself in.

Inside was an unconscious grey-haired man in his 50s or 60s attached to life support, the whirring of the machine being the only sound in this room. It was a pitiful sight, even more so knowing Kai could just heal him anytime.

"My god... what else are you hiding down here, Kai?" You asked but he didn't answer and just stopped by the side of the man's bed.

"Can you wake him? I'd like to talk to him." You requested.

"... It's too soon." He muttered and you saw a glimpse of fear and worry in his eyes. He was afraid to wake him just yet.

"You said he would understand, but deep down you know he's not going to take it well. No rational human being will simply forgive the person who put them in coma and continuously tortured their relative."
