Chapter 19

You sighed as you were done with another day at the office. Overhaul's confession left you feeling confused and you were hoping to get some distraction from work by keeping busy, but all you got was another headache.

You just wasted 2 hours in a meeting with your board, discussing what should be the theme of your party. Since the invitations were already sent out, you didn't see the point of adding more hassle to the guests by pressuring them to find a suitable outfit when the party was barely a month from now, and suggested to allow the guest to just simply look their best, but some of the board members argued that you needed to do something special this year considering the huge success and expansion. Kusumoto suggested a beach theme while your COO wanted a winter theme and eventually the meeting ended with no conclusion, soiling your mood even more.

Just as you walked through one of the floors to get to the elevator, silently grumbling to yourself, the door to one of the storage rooms opened and someone pulled you in from behind, a rough hand covering your mouth.  

"Relax, it's just me." A familiar voice purred in your ear. You turned your head slightly meet his cerulean blue eyes. As soon as he decided you were not going to cause a scene, he released his hand and you whipped around to face him.

"Are you insane? There are security cameras all over this floor and there are still people here!" You whispered harshly. Dabi just grinned at you in amusement.

"It's much more exciting when it's risky like this, don't you think?" He moved even closer to you in the already tiny space of the storage room.

"I have no idea what you're talking about! How did you get here anyway?" You pushed at his chest although he didn't budge. He was way too close for comfort.

"Oh, I have my ways. Don't worry, princess, nobody saw me."

"Why did you come?"

"I missed you." His predatory grin grew even wider.

"In all seriousness." You reprimanded him.

"What? Is it so unlikely for me to want to fulfill my fantasy of being alone with in you in a storage room while your employees are just right outside?"

"Geez!" You backed away.  He wouldn't just get to the point first without saying such outrageous things first, would he?

He just sniggered as if what he said was hilarious. "Well, if you really want to know, Shigaraki sent me to give you this." He pulled out a flash drive from his pocket and handed it to you.

"What's this for?" 

"Contains all the information you need about the High-End Nomu."

"What? Why would he give me something like this?"

"Who knows? He probably wants you to have more transparency about our project and get more funding from you. Or he's trying to get in your pants. Or most likely both."

"That's pretty rich coming from you." You scoffed. "But thank you, I'll take a look at this."

"Do I get a reward for bringing it all the way to you?"

"What do you a want?"

"Hmm...  How about a kiss?"

"No." You glared at him. "If there's nothing else, I will be taking my leave. Don't let anyone see you on your way out."

"Such an ice queen." Small blue flames sparked on the top of his fingers before disappearing completely. "I'd love to melt you."

You shook your head and made sure no one was outside before leaving the storage room. Hopefully none of your security team noticed you disappearing into the storage room for a brief time. You would have to make a few edits to the footage just to be sure.
