For a brief moment you felt as if someone just grated your nerves and set them on fire. The pain spread through your whole body and your eyes shot open. For a moment all you could see was light, which slowly cleared into a light bulb and you saw figures shuffling around you. You felt awful and you couldn't even place where the pain was , it felt as if it were everywhere and yet nowhere.
"How are you feeling?" A familiar voice said, one you had been longing to hear for a while. The pain slowly subsided although it still left an unpleasant feeling in you.
"Kai! I-" You stopped and forgot anything you wanted to say when you saw his bare hand and it took you few seconds to realize he used his quirk on you.
You looked up to him although his eyes betrayed no relief, they were stern and disappointed.
"I told you, didn't I?" He took a step closer. "The League of Villains cannot be trusted. Why did you decide to deal with them directly without my knowledge?"
The words froze in your throat, unable to come up with any response. So he did find out after all. What possible explanation could you give? You opened your mouth but no words came out and you saw his eyebrow twitch in annoyance.
"Let's talk about it later. Wash yourself up first." He said coldly and walked out the room, other members cleaning up whatever tools they used on you.
You were a little taken aback by his cold shoulder but it was expected, since after all you did hide these meetings with the villains from him. You sighed, still feeling uncomfortable from the pain that had been induced to you and despondent at the situation. As you went inside the bathroom, the towels, shampoo, soap, bodywash and other necessities were already prepared for you which you appreciated.
As you went on to take a shower, your thoughts became less muddled and you remembered everything clearly. The party, the death of your vice president and COO, the kidnapping by the League of Villains, the aftermath and the struggle in the back of the truck.
You buried your face into your hands. If it weren't for Kai, you would have remained dead. How terribly reckless of you! You've build yourself all these years only to succumb to the curiosity about some mediocre criminal organization.
What was everyone thinking of you now? What did your family think? You felt a mixture of irritation and shock when thinking about Shigaraki. It was still hard for you to believe he messed up your party and then tried to keep you against your will. How could he do this to you?
You suddenly remembered something he mentioned. He said something about Kai keeping a girl named Eri captive, who was the source of the bullets according to him. A young girl with incredible powers who he destroyed and recreated her over and over again.... What a horrible scenario to think of. Him bringing you back had been most the uncomfortable and painful sensation you ever experienced. How much more if it was done over and over again?
No, no, it couldn't be true. Kai may have done terrible things but that was too extreme. This was just a tactic to plant seeds of doubt into your mind about Kai, but you knew he was not nearly as evil as the League of Villains. Shigaraki was just lying to you like he had done before. Still, you could still try to ask Kai about it later when he was in a better mood, maybe there was something else about it. For now, you had to face his wrath.
You finished up after awhile, proceeding to dry yourself off and using a blow dryer for your hair. You looked as alive as you could be. You took a deep breath and left the bathroom, returning to the room you woke up in. Kai had already returned alone this time, donning his usual plague mask. His eyebrows were slightly knit together, making him look vexed. You swallowed, a wave of guilt washing over you. If it weren't for him, you would still be dead. You would have never woken up again. That would have been the end of your road.
