Apalapucia was beautiful. All day the Doctor and I relaxed. Well... I relaxed. He always seemed tense, like he would be ready to run at a seconds notice. I tried everything to get him to relax and have some fun but it would only last a minute or two. Then I noticed something. There were only half the people here an when we arrived. I finally realized why he was acting so strange, immediately I tensed up beside him. He leaned down near my ear while looking all around.

"You finally noticed?" I glanced up at him quickly.

"Why exactly didn't you mention to me that people were going missing?" I hissed. He just smiled at me.

"Well, I didn't want to spoil your fun. Follow him." He whispered while nodding towards a man walking into an alleyway. The Doctor casually walked the same way and I caught up to walk next to him.

"What do you think it is? I know you have some ideas." I asked him.

"Most likely Cybermen." He stated.

"Excuse me? Cyber-what?"

"Cybermen. Humans get 'upgraded' into hunks of metal with emotion inhibitors. If you shut down the inhibitor, it kills them." The man we were following turned a corner. The Doctor looked around it and groaned.

"You humans are always so curious!" I laughed.

"As a former human, I find that highly offensive! And you can't tell me you're not ever curious because, I'm certainly not human and I am insanely curious about what's down that alley. So if you'll excuse me..." I shoved past him, puzzling over what I see. The man was gone and there was a metal head looking thing on top of a rubbish bin. Every once in a while it would say, in a really annoying voice, either "All the humans will be upgraded" or "delete". Cyberman. I walked back to the other side of the Doctor.

"Cyberman?" He nodded. "I'm guessing that there is a hole right in front of the head, probably has holographic concrete over it. It most likely leads to the "upgrading chamber" or whatever it is. What I dont get though, is why they're doing it one by one, if they wanted to make an army, wouldn't they need them all...over...the planet."I looked up at him wide eyed as the realization struck me, he nodded grimly. He walked over to the hole, pulling out his sonic. It emmited and loud whine as he pointed it at the ground in front of us. Suddenly the ground which was solid a second ago was now a dark hole.

"Well, are you ready?" Without waiting for a response, he grabbed me and we fell through the dark.
