I open my eyes to a bright light. After my eyes adjust, I realize I'm lying on my back, looking up at the sun. When I try to sit up, the world seems to spin and my stomach churns. I sit still until it calms and looked around. I was on the other side of the road, but there was a man in the middle of it, where I had been when the car was about to hit me. The car was nowhere to be seen, but the man was unconscious. I stood up slowly and walked over, panicking a little.
Oh my gosh, is he dead? I thought as I knelt next to him. As I looked closer at him, I noticed he was wearing a long brown overcoat, which now had a long tear on the sleeve, a blue suit, and red converse. My eyes moved to his wrist, which I quickly picked up to check his pulse. I found the pulse and sighed in relief, until I noticed something that made me jump up in alarm. His pulse was beating in groups of four. I grabbed his wrist again to make sure I wasn't imagining things. One, two, three, four.

My eyes wandered back up to the mans face and I screamed, his eyes were open and he was looking at my hand. He looked almost amused.

"Wha-what are you?" I stuttered. The man stood up and looked at his coat. He pouted when he noticed the gash on the sleeve.

"Well, I'm the Doctor," he paused like he was thinking, still pouting at his coat," I'm a Time Lord from Gallifrey, I travel around in a TARDIS that looks like a 1960s Police Box, and I just saved your life." After he stopped talking he looked at me  for the first time since he had woken up. His face turned a mix of confusion, pain, and... joy?

"Hana? But you-" He whispered, in awe.

"Do I know you?" I interrupted, I little harsher than I meant. Realization crossed his face. He ran up the steps of the nearest house and looked at the newspaper.

"2013, it hasn't happened yet." He muttered where he thought I couldn't hear.

"What? What hasn't happened yet?" I questioned, but he wouldn't even turn to face me. I ran around so I was in front of him.

"What's going on? Who are you to me?" I demanded. He looked up and his brown eyes were full of tears.

"Nobody. Not yet anyways. I, uh," he cleared his throat," I'll see you later." He turned and ran off. I chased after but lost him after I heard a strange whooshing noise.
