The Doctor

Lying inside of the black velvet was a ring. With trembling hands, I pulled it out and examined it. The ring was silver and had a two different words in Gallifreyan engraved on the sides. On the front, between the engravings, was a small white diamond. I sat and stared at it for, I guess, a long time until there was a knock at my door, causing me to scream and almost drop the ring. Quickly, I set it back in the box and shut it.

"Hana? Are you awake?" His voice sounded a little shaky.

"M-hm." I answered, not trusting my voice either. He cracked the door open and popped his head inside.

"I, uh," He opened the door the rest of the way and was leaning against the frame. "Was just seeing if you had..." I walked over to stand in front of him.

"Opened it ye- oh!" He was cut off as I hugged him, almost knocking him over. I gave a small laugh and he wrapped his arms around me. My ear was against his chest and I could hear his hearts beating faster than usual but, I guess mine were, too. We stayed like that awhile before I spoke.

"It's beautiful." I tilted my head back to see his face as it broke into a grin. He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. We seperated and I walked over to my bed, where I had set the little black box. Sitting, I patted the spot next to me. When he sat down, I pulled out the ring.

"What does it say on the sides?" I asked him. He smiled again before he replied.

"That's our names." I grinned and handed the ring to him. He looked at it confused and I rolled my eyes.

"Well? Are you going to ask me or not?" His face brightened and he turned to face me.

"Okay. Hana? Will you marry me?" He blushed a little and my heart soared. I felt my eyes water a little and I nodded.

"Of course I will." If it was possible, his smile got bigger as he slipped the ring onto my finger. I buried my face into his shirt as he hugged me close.

"I love you." His arms tightened a little at my words.

"I love you, too."
