"Good news," Newt's face is impossibly cheerful as he comes into your room.

"What?" You ask, wondering what could be so good. You only had six days left before they were making you leave, and they still hadn't told you what kind of place they were sending you too.

"I think we found your Mom," Newt looks a little nervous now, as if he's not sure how you're going to react, and to be honest, neither are you. You feel a little dizzy, and you go to sit down, Newt is by your side in a second, holding your hand, "How can I help, Love?" You shake your head.

"I'm okay, I just didn't think it would be that easy."

He shakes his head, "It wasn't easy, the guy my dad hired was really good."

"You mean expensive?"

"I mean it's worth it if we can convince her to come back, and honestly Dad was almost excited to throw money at me if it meant I was talking to him again."

"Newt-"

"No, please, I did this for us, it's okay," he kisses your hand gently, and looks up at you, leaning in to kiss you slowly. The kiss calms you down a bit, and you relax as he deepens into the kiss. Eventually he pulls away, grinning at you, "That will never get old."

"Alright, so where is she?"

"Actually that's the good news, she's only about a fifteen hour drive from here, so we're gonna take a road trip! It'll be three nights so we drive seven or eight hours each day. We'll take my car, my mom already said yes, and Thomas and Minho are coming too!" He's beaming, and his hope is so contagious, you start to feel like maybe there is some hope after all. You do have some memories of your mother when you were young, her reading to you in bed, playing with your hair. You felt safe with her, and she said she loved you.

"Okay, when do we leave?"

"Now, if you're okay with that, I don't want to wait if there's a chance to help you." You don't have to think too hard before nodding, and Newt leans in for a kiss, pulling you close, one hand in your hair, the other on your back, he deepens into the kiss, his hand slides lower, he gives your ass a firm squeeze before breaking away, a grin on his face. "Twenty minutes enough time to pack?"

"Yeah, I can make that work," you go to your closet to grab a bag to pack, your face fully red. You glance behind you at Newt who appears to be happily enjoying the view, "Stop that!"

"Stop what?" Feigned innocence on his face, he comes close to you, grabbing both your hands in his, he spins you around once before pulling in close and kissing you on the neck, once, then twice, then he starts moving up your neck slowly in a path towards your mouth, which he stops at to kiss you properly, you stay like that, entwined together fora few minutes before Newt pulls away, "Fifteen minutes now."

You step out of his arms, "Well how can I focus with you in here distracting me?"

Newt lifted his hands in a motion of surrender, "Well I guess I'll have to leave them, I've got to pack my own bag anyways. See you downstairs." The moment Newt steps out of sight you collapse on your bed, trying to collect yourself. After laying for just a minute you get up to pack your bag, excited for this trip for way more than one reason.

The first stop is Minho's house, and Newt tells you to go ahead and head up to the front door and knock, he was going to rearrange the trunk to fit everything better. Minho's house is much less intimidating than Newt's, it's an average size and you feel more or less comfortable walking up to the door, until you hear shouting inside.

"You're not even going to consider it?!" You recognize Minho's furious voice, but you've never heard him sound this angry before.

"I'm not bringing some random child into our home! I haven't even met the girl, and I'm barely making rent as it is! We don't have the room or the funds for another body in this house, and that's final." A woman's voice, equally upset as Minho's.

"You don't understand, she's been through enough, she can't go into the system, it'll chew her up, I need to keep her safe."

"Look, Minho, I know this is personal for you because you had such a rough time, and you still blame me, but it's time to move past that, it was a long time ago and I'm a different person now."

"Yeah, it's easy for you to want to move past it, you didn't go through what I went through. And if you wanted to help our relationship you'd foster (Y/n)!"

"Minho, I am your mother, and what I say is final. End of discussion."

Newt clears his throat behind you, and you turn around, startled. "I was just..." you trail off, unable to come up with a good excuse.

"Eavesdropping?"

"Yes, that is what I was doing, I didn't want to intrude," You admit.

"Well we have to intrude now, we've got to head to Thomas's," Newt steps past you, knocking on the door loudly and yelling, "Oi, Mate! It's time to go!" Only seconds pass before Minho opens the door, a duffel bag slung over his shoulder.

"Lets do this," he says with a grin, and you all head back to Newt's car to go pick up Thomas, who was waiting outside for them, and easily threw his bag into the trunk and climbed into the back seat with Minho.

Only a couple minutes later Newt was sighing and pulling into a gas station parking lot, heavily encouraged by Minho's incessant requests for a soda and snack stop, and you could admit you wouldn't mind having something to snack on and a drink. The four of you manage to make a relatively quick stop, with Newt buying it all, and after both Thomas and Minho offered to pay him back, Newt confessed that the card was given to him by his Dad and he was free to use it as he wanted. You all pile back into the car and set off again, spending the next couple hours listening to music, playing guessing games, and chatting, stopping only to grab quick sandwiches and use the bathroom.

Eventually you pull into a motel parking lot, the Sun had set about fifteen minutes earlier so everything was still slightly illuminated with a soft glow to it. Newt went into the office to get rooms while Minho and Thomas unloaded the trunk, you picked your bag up and slung it over your shoulder, then went to grab Newt's duffel, but Minho shooed your hands away, grabbing and lifting it over his other shoulder.

"You're in the presence of gentlemen now," Minho said, and Thomas stepped forward and took your own bag from you. You felt a little silly, but touched as you headed toward the office entrance, Newt came out before the three of you got there, and held up a singular room key.

"They only had one room with two Queen beds, so you Shanks are going to have to make that work, Newt says, and you shrug, pretending you don't feel disappointed.

"Well I guess that means we're sharing a bed," Minho says to Thomas with a chuckle, who only shrugs.

"It could be worse, but we've got to get some dinner, I'm starving," Thomas says.

"We can go as soon as we drop our bags off, this way," Newt heads towards the rooms, up a level and a few doors down, and after dropping off your bags you head out and find a decent Mexican restaurant and all get massive burritos. You couldn't finish yours, but Thomas and Newt got into a contest on who could finish their burrito first, and both of them looked exhausted by the end, but Newt pushed through and came out on top. Minho happily ate his whole burrito, sighing and rubbing his stomach with satisfaction when he finished.

You head back to the hotel and take turns showering and surfing through the channels on the TV. You went first, then Thomas taught you how to play poker, betting with pennies while Newt was in the shower. After Newt was done the two of you curl up on your bed and cuddle, watching TV and lazily kissing, Newt puts his hands up the back of your shirt and scratches your back, which nearly puts you to sleep. Soon enough Minho turns the light off and turns the volume of the TV way down, and you and Newt curl into each other, your back against his chest, you fall into a deep sleep.
