"Slow down!!" You practically have to yell to Newt from your position in the backseat. And he doesn't even seem to hear you, he just continues to drive at the speed of light.

"NEWT!" You say, for the fiftieth time, and he finally slows down, turning to check on you in the back seat.

"Don't worry (y/n), we will be at the hospital soon." He says, then turning around to continue driving, and you feel a flood of panic.

"No no, we can't go to the hospital. That's not an option. I'm fine, I just need a minute." To which Newt pulls the car over to the side of the road in shock, looking back at you.

"What do you mean we don't need to go to the hospital?! You're stomach is bleeding, you're loosing a lot of blood."

"And I'll heal eventually, but we're not going to the emergency room." You say, beginning to sit up. In a flash Newt has gotten out of his seat and is holding your hand, gently pushing you down.

"Don't try to move. That will only make it worse." He says, his eyes full of concern.

"I'm fine." You say again, trying to shake him off. You don't want to go to the hospital. There are too many things that couldn't be explained.

"(y/n), listen. You need to go to the hospital. I'm worried okay? We're going now, just relax. We'll be there in a few minutes."

The blood loss is getting worse and your eyes are starting to get fuzzy and the world is spinning. You try to protest again, but you can't really talk very well. So Newt just lays your head down and gets back into the driver's seat, and drives away again, leaving you panicked in the backseat.

"Just don't tell them," You manage to get out before the world goes black.

Opening your eyes, you can feel that you're lying in a bed, and you can see a shape next to you, standing. Gasping, you jerk awake, sure you passed out an it's your father next to you, you start to scramble to get away from him, trying to scoot backwards into the far corner of the bed, until you hear Newt.

"Shhhh (y/n), it's okay. It's just me." He says, and you begin to calm down, laying back down in the hospital bed.

"You were mugged on your way home from school." He says quietly to you, smoothing your hair back as you lie there.

"They got away, and you'll need to describe your attacker for the police later," he leans in and kisses your cheek, and quietly whispers in your ear, "And you need to tell me the real story later."

Standing back up again, he squeezes your hand. "Get some more sleep. I'll be right here the whole time." You're so exhausted your eyes seem to close against your will, and Newt pulls a chair up next to your bed and holds your hand as you fall asleep.
