You're living in fear everywhere you go. You keep waiting to see him around every corner, and when he's not there, it's honestly not that big of a relief. Your father's still somewhere, waiting for you.

Of course your head logically says that he won't bother with you, that he's halfway across the country never to be heard of again, too scared of the police to come back. But of course that's not what your gut says. You think he's coming. And you don't know what to do.

"....(Y/n)...." You hear Newt's voice. "Hey (Y/n), you okay?" He asks, snapping you back to reality. You put on a smile.

"Of course I am," but you can feel that the fake smile is pathetic, and Newt reaches across the car to give you a hug.

"It's all going to be okay, (Y/n), you'll be okay. I'm not going to let anything happen to you," He kisses your forehead gently. You nod, eyes closed, trying not to cry.

"You can't let him control your life. He's not coming back, and even if he does he can't do anything to you."

You smile, slightly more convincingly, and although Newt is not convinced, he's willing to drop the subject.

"So where do you want to go?" He says, turning to grip the wheel of his car, "We have the whole afternoon, so let's make the best of it."

"A movie?" You ask shyly.

He grins, "Perfect."

You two head to the movies, get your tickets and your popcorn, sit close together, his arm around you, giggling and sharing popcorn, and making out a little in the dark movie theater. Everything's okay.

During the movie, it had started to rain unexpectedly, and since neither you or Newt had a jacket, he insisted on going and getting the car while you waited inside, so you wouldn't get wet or cold. And albeit a little reluctantly, you agreed.

Walking around waiting for Newt, you see him. Just for a split second, your father, then he was gone.

Did you imagine it? He looked pretty clear to be a cruel mind trick of your head, but then again you've been so freaked out lately it could have easily been fake. That was it, it had to be fake.

But what if it wasn't? What if he's really there, stalking you, following you. Waiting. What if he takes you away, never to be heard from again. What if he hurts Newt.....

You hear a car honk, and you turn and see Newt waiting in the car, so you put all thoughts of your dad aside, and run through the rain to the dry car. To Newt.
