"Hey (y/n)." Newt says with a smile, holding the library door open for you, to which you nearly have a heart attack for.

"Hi." You say timidly, in a split second decision. And you're really glad you did, once you see the huge grin on his face when he hears your voice. You have to bite your lip to keep from smiling too big as you walk through the library to your usual corner.

You keep expecting him to turn off and go do something else obviously more interesting, but he doesn't. He stays right by your side, your hand brushing his every so often. It's like he wants to hold it but doesn't want to scare you off.

You're really nervous, and Newt seems to sense that, so he doesn't talk much, which you are kind of grateful for, and kind of disappointed. You love his accent.

Instead of pretending to look through the shelves to get close to you like he normally does, today he just sits down next to you. Pretty much giving you another heart attack. He pulls out his own book and starts reading, calmly. As if you're not about to die next to him.

You smile. A real genuine smile. And he sees it, giving you a cheesy grin back, he goes back to his book, but you notice his eyes flicking up every couple of minutes or so at you. It's okay though. Even though you have a book in front of you, you're not getting much reading done. You can't seem to focus with him this close to you.

Every time he takes a breath, you feel a little pressure on your shoulder. You are so hopeless, you roll your eyes at yourself, but smile at the same time.

This isn't so bad. Maybe this could be, you know, and actual thing! You won't be able to tell him everything, but maybe you could work something out. And this is something that might make you... happy.

Sooner or later you do have to leave the library, cause it only stays open for an hour or so after school ends, so you have to say goodbye to Newt and head home.

But you're happier than you normally are, and that's an accomplishment.
