Newt x reader

Chapter Twenty-Three

You get up for school slightly late cause you were so tired. But you're able to hurry and make it on time since you just have that much skill.

And today you don't stall at you're locker or even go to the library, you just go to class so no chance to see Newt this morning, and you feel pretty disappointed, partly to your own surprise.

The day goes by pretty slowly cause you're waiting for lunch.... for Newt. So you just wait for lunch, which seems like forever away.

Well eventually lunch comes and you really just want to see Newt, so you just go ahead and walk, somewhat quickly, to the library. And Newt is waiting for you at the door. You duck your head slightly and smile, remembering exactly how shy you are.

You get close to Newt eventually, and he grins. He's actually happy to see you! You feel really happy seeing his grin as he looks at you.

"Hey y/n" he says, still smiling. And you bite your lip and smile back, trying to think of something cool to say, but epically failing. So you just stick with something simple.

"Hi," you nearly whisper, pretty much failing at anything social, but you feel a little better cause Newt's smile gets even bigger hearing your voice, so maybe you're not failing that bad....

Like last time you saw Newt, he doesn't even pretend that he's not following you, he just sits down next to you and opens a book as you do the same.

You try to read, but fail epically. Soon enough you just close your book, it's not working. Next to you Newt closes his book too, still on the same page as when you both started. Apparently reading isn't working today.

"Do you want to go to lunch?" He asks, and without even waiting for an answer he stands up and grabs your hands and pulls you up, and you can't help but grin.

He doesn't drop your hand as he walks out of the library, and you don't make a move to drop his hand, this might be a good day.
