Waking up the next morning is an awful feeling. Your head hurts, your arm hurts, your stomach hurts. You just hurt in almost every way. But staying home would be worse than getting up. So you're up.
Rushing out of the door as soon as you can, you manage to avoid your father like most mornings, considering he is hung over and passed out somewhere in the house. So, you're off to school. Taking the longest way around that you possibly can.
At school you still have twenty minutes before class starts. That's too long to just walk around, so you go to the library. Managing to slip past a majority of the students without being noticed, you slink off to your corner.
Sitting down out of sight, you don't even bother to take anything out. You pull your knees up to your chest and rest your head in your arms, grateful for this short moment of peace. This short moment of peace is cut short by thoughts. You start thinking too deeply about life in general. How you'll never be able to let anyone it, because you've already been broken. No one wants something broken, even if you've been glued back together, you'll always have cracks. So people will leave you and move along as soon as they notice. You'll be like this forever. Alone. A tear slips out of your eye, out of sight of everyone.
Someone sits next to you. Who would it be but Newt, the only person who seems to even notice you. But you can't risk breaking him too, so you stealthily wipe your eyes as you look up to see him. Hopefully erasing any visible damage, you look away from him like you normally do. Doing your best to cover everything up.
"(y/n), what's wrong?" He tenderly asks. Just him asking is almost enought to bring you to tears again, but you can't let that happen.
"Nothing. Just tired." You reply, trying to sound as happy, or at least as normal, as possible.
"(y/n), I don't think that's true, but I'm willing to wait until you're ready to tell me, but until then, I'll stay right by your side."
"There's really nothing, I just stayed up late reading last night." You manage to get out the lie.
"Well that may be true, but I don't think so. I also want to know, what happened to your head?"
"I told you-"
"No. I mean what really happened? I know you're hiding something, and I've told you, I'll wait, but I'm also not going to leave you alone." Your heart practically melts at the thought of telling someone, having someone care.
"Really Newt, it's nothing. I'm not hiding anything." You say with a smile, and is replaced by a frown as soon as you stand up and turn away from Newt. Your heart breaking leaving him again and again.
