Another long and boring day is almost halfway over as the lunch bell rings. Personally, you hate lunchtime. It's just another chance to be lonely, and you never bring food anyways.

You make your way to the library, since you could never survive in the lunchroom, and as you round the corner to the library, you stop dead in your tracks. Newt is waiting for you.

Dropping your head low and letting your (h/c) hair cover your blushing face as you try to slip past him.

"(Y/n)!" He says, and grabs your arm to stop you from slipping past him, and you have to bite your lip to keep from crying out at the contact. He mistakes this action for nerves, which in a way it is.

"Ummmmm...." He says, blushing too. It's obvious he hadn't thought far enough ahead as to what he would say, "How are you?" He asks lamely. You nearly giggle, but catch yourself. He's just so adorable!

"I'm good." You say, smiling. And then you catch yourself, and stop smiling. You can't drag someone as nice as Newt into this, no matter how bad you want to.

You put your head down and slip past him, into the library. Cursing under your breath, you head to the far corner of the library, your usual spot.

You plop down on the floor among the bookshelves with a book and a heavy sigh. Opening your book you begin to read.

A couple minutes later you glance up again, and see Newt a couple feet away, casually leafing through some magazine. You blush and hide your head behind your book, bringing your knees up to more effectively do so.

A couple minutes, or more accurately, seconds, later you glance up again, and see him a few feet closer. A small giggle escapes your lips, and you immediately bite your lip and stare down at your book. But no before glancing back up at Newt. Who has a very large grin on his face.

The rest of the lunch period passes in a similar fashion. Newt slowly inching closer, and you are unable to concentrate due to that fact.

You want to let him into your life so bad, but you just can't. And for that reason you are almost thankful once the bell rings and you and Newt part ways.

Almost.
