Migz stirs.
His eyes open to the dimly lit hospital suite. The light coming from the LED TV screen illuminates Drake's face as his eyes lay fixed on it.
Migz: Di ba dapat mag-rest ka na?
He whispers.
Drake turns his head to see Migz woken up.
Drake: The very thought of someone cracking my skull and taking a piece of my brain doesn't really sing me to sleep.
Migz rises from his seat and squeezes himself to the side of Drake's hospital bed.
Drake shuffles to his left to make room for him.
Drake: What time is it na ba?
He asks, eyes still fixed on the screen.
Migz: Uhhh 2:21 na.
He tells Drake upon checking his watch.
Migz: Naka-ilang episodes ka na?
He asks.
Drake: I just finished season one.
He senses a tinge of sarcasm with Drake's response.
Migz snuggles closer to Drake.
Migz: Sorry, naka-tulugan ko.
He rubs his cheeks affectionately on Drake's right shoulder.
Drake: Don't worry about it.
He scoffs.
Drake pushes Migz's face away.
Migz chuckles as he fights against Drake's hand.
Drake: Don't be so makulit.
He scolds him.
Migz: Oo naaa... Nagla-lambing lang.
He sulks.
Drake shifts, leans closer towards Migz, and lands a light kiss on his left temple.
Migz jerks his head back a bit.
He did not see that coming.
Drake's smile shines through the illumination from the moving images on the LED screen.
Their eyes meet for a moment as they exchange smiles.
Drake could see Migz blush even through the dim illumination provided by the scene playing on the TV.
Migz turns away for a bit.
He takes a deep breath and attempts to divert Drake's attention from his still red tinted cheeks.
Migz: Si Tita?
Drake: She fell asleep not more than an hour ago. Ask pa niya kung gusto ko ng water, sabi ko fasting na ako —she forgot ata.
Drake tells him.
Migz: Ang sweet nga ni Tita kanina. Ayaw ako tigilan hanggang di ako nagme-merienda.
Drake chuckles.
Drake: She's like that nga. You should see her on Noche Buena at Christmas.
Migz: Talaga?
Drake: Anong busog-busog? Pasko ngayon, dapat kumakain.
Drake forgets himself. His voice grows a bit louder as he makes his impression of his Mother's voice.
