Casa Arrastia is a hive of activity as the afternoon ticked on the clock.

A carved crown now hangs high against the wall of the sala mayor. From the rim of the crown is draped a light blue patterned brocade curtain lined with dusty rose silk fabric. The curtain forms two swags to sides. The gathered fabric, held by two carved cherubim, hung slightly lower than the crown, gives the set-up a grand feel.

A kneeler finished in dark wood is being taken out from the chapel by Migz when the florist arrives.

Bubbles: Hi, Migz!

The florist drops the two white boxes of floral foam onto the floor.

Migz puts down the kneeler before closing the chapel door.

Bubbles, an effete, larger than life character, is the local florist, make-up artist, and pageant enthusiast entrusted by Don Vicente to do the floral arrangements of the Virgen Inmaculada Concepcion's shrine for the novena.

Bubbles: Na-miss na kita. Ako ba hindi mo nami-miss?

He says as he takes Migz' left arm and flirtatiously hugs it with his cheeks touching his biceps.

Migz: Hindi. May dahilan ba para ma-miss kita?

Migz struggles to break his arm free from Bubbles.

He uses his left had to push away Bubbles' face.

Bubbles: Ang suplado mo na ha, Migz.

Migz: Huwag ako pag-initan mo. Mamaya andito si Paolo, siya landiin mo.

Bubbles: Sawa na 'ko kay Paolo, Papa Migz.

Bubble gets more aggresive. This time, poking Migz's chest with his left index finger while holding on to Migz's arm.

Migz: O yang kamay mo, Rustico, kung saan-saan naman napupunta.

Migz finds a way to break free from Bubbles.

Bubbles: Ikaw naman, Migz... Nagla-lambing lang...

He carries the wooden kneeler to the center of the sala mayor.

Bubbles: Nasaan ka pala  kagabi? Hindi ka sumipot sa birthday ni Sweet! Hinintay ka kaya namin.

Bubbles asks Migz as she gathers the boxes of floral foam she dropped a while ago.

Migz: Ah kagabi ba yon? May ginawa kasi ako eh.

He makes a quick excuse for himself.

Bubbles: Chusero ka! Nakita ka pa nga daw ni Teejay na may kasama tumambay sa plaza at nanood ng Pa-Alay sa simbahan.

Bubbles says as he looks around the sala mayor, taking count of the silver candle-stands left standing at the corner.

Migz: May bisita nga kami ng Lolo Cente.

Migz explains while adjusting the placement of the kneeler.

Bubbles: Ah ganoon ba?

Bubbles: Hoy Bakla, dahan-dahan lang baka ma-lamog yung stargazer! Magka-pasa yang mga bulaklak pa-kain ko yan sayo!

He shouts at one of his assistants bringing in two bundles of the fragrant white flowers.

Cito: Boses mo naman, Bubbles! Baka nagsi-siesta pa ang Don Vicente.

Cito scolds him as he enters the house's main door, carrying a stack of plastic chairs.

Bubbles: Sorry naman, Señor Cito de Don de Janitor! Bahay mo? Mansion mo?
