The Polar Plunge is an annual event run and managed by Special Olympics of Georgia. It is held at Acworth Beach and participants plunge into icy lake to raise money for Special Olympics. I led an effort to have the Play Unified club participate in this event. To be more COVID-safe, I opted out of going to Lake Acworth and decided to have the event at a local pool and stagger the timing for participants to plunge into the pool. It was a fun event and it raised awareness about programming provided by Special Olympics.
