I completed the training class called "Coaching Special Olympics Athletes" that was recommended by the Special Olympics of Georgia. The course objective is "to provide better sport programs and the well-being of athletes through better coaching." I took the class to improve my understanding of skills needed to work effectively with Special Olympics athletes and people with disabilities during Play Unified club activities. I learned a lot through this course that will improve my skills when working with individuals with disabilities. As a club leader, I also believe that I will be able to effectively explain this information to students at my school that are participating in the event.
