Step Up For Disabilities

5/7/21- Digital Youth Summit/$500 Grant

Attended the Digit Youth Summit hosted by the Special Olympics. I was invited to attend as I enabled my high school to become a Unified Champion School during 2021. The summit featured US youth ambassadors and and Special Olympics leadership. Attending the summit enabled me to apply for a Leadership Grant from KPMG. I applied for and received a $500 grant on July 9! This grant will be used to help purchase tennis balls, medals, and other equipment for the Special Pops Fall Class Tennis tournament. I have agreed to organize the students in the Play Unified club at my school to participate as volunteers to increase awareness and acceptance for people with disabilities among the students at my school. KPMG is the organization that is sponsoring the award and I have a mentor at KPMG that I meet with periodically to discuss my progress.So excited about the grant!
