Step Up For Disabilities

10/26/20 Advocating for Better Access to Voting-Disability Awareness Event #2

At my school, we have been having regular discussions about possible issues for the upcoming election, so I wrote the script for a video that discusses the voting challenges for people with disabilities. I filmed it at school with members of the Play Unified club. It was shown and discussed in the upper school advisement classes. I got tons of positive feedback from faculty and students about the video. I am excited to share a message about a segment of the population that has many voting challenges that need to be heard and addressed. This will be the second disability awareness event that I have held this year with the Play Unified Club. This will complete one of my SMART goals in my Gold Award Project.
