As a result of my project, I became very interested in physical therapy as a possible field of study. With the help of Howie Rosenberg at GiGi's Playhouse, I was able to do an internship at Kiddos' Clubhouse to get some hands-on experience with physical therapy.I assisted Dr. Sydney Shine, a physical therapist at Kiddos' who is also on the Board of Directors at GiGi's Playhouse. I provided support for occupational, speech and physical therapy sessions. Children seeking therapy from Kiddos' mainly have genetic, congenital or acquired conditions that have affected their motor development and motor functions. It was a great experience and I am very grateful to all of the therapists that let me shadow while they were working with their patients! Thanks also to Howie for connecting me with Kiddos'!
