Reunion with a Thief ( Season 2 of MCD; Episode 86)

     " I figured." Aphmau commented as soon as she saw the empty caves." The door was left open, this place has been ransacked, Tu'la must've gotten here first."

     " Are you sure this is the right place? It doesn't look like anyone's here."

     " This is the right place alright, and it's as it should be, deserted. They all left when Tu'la began to invade O'khasis and was making its way to Naruka, but I have no idea where the thieves went off to. I'm hoping we can find some kind of clue here."

     " This doesn't seem productive."

     " I suppose it's better than nothing."

     " Besides, I doubt any of us have a better plan."

      " We've got to start somewhere."

     " So why're we here?" Katelyn asked as Aphmau began to wander around the Cavern." Why didn't we just go to O'khasis and get what we needed?"

     " There's nothing here... Word is that no one has been in or out of O'khasis since Tu'la arrived, we don't know what's going on behind those walls, and for all we know, the entire army of Tu'la... their troops could be stationed right at their front door. We have to get more information before we go busting in. Just because we're doing something dangerous doesn't mean we should be stupid about it."

     " Well, you can't argue with that logic."

     " It's good to know that even foolish plans have good beginnings."

     " Hey, I said we're doing something dangerous, not stupid."

     " There's a difference?"

     Aphmau laughed." In this case, yes! There is!"

     " You keep saying that, but I'm not so sure."

     " I feel like we're the only fools trying to get into O'khasis, I mean if this is such a good idea, why aren't more people doing it?"

     " What are you talking about Katelyn?" Garroth asked with a laugh." Didn't you see the lines of people just waiting to get in? Tu'la was keeping the gates open for anyone to come in! They're so welcoming!"

     " Okay you two, you're hilarious, now stop complaining and help me look for clues. Unless you can come up with a better idea than retreating."

     " Right, right..."

     " You have a point, back to work then."

     " Aphmau, while I don't exactly have a better idea, are you sure going into O'khasis is safe? If they're as well-armed as you think, if they even spot you or Garroth, even if they aren't specifically looking for you, it could be all over."

     " You're probably right Alex, but no one's got a better idea, so we're just going to have to be cautious."

     Katelyn spoke again after a minute." So what are we looking for?"

     " Uhh... anything that looks like a clue as to where they've gone."

     " Good, that clears things up."

     " Hey, watch it you. Just take a look around and see if anything stands out, okay?... Anything, just..." Aphmau stopped speaking as something in her pocket started glowing, and she pulled out a golden dagger, before walking to a wall that had been glowing as well. As soon as the weapon made contact with the stone wall, a doorway appeared, leaving everyone present shocked.
