" Alex, would you like to take a walk?"
" That would be nice..."
"... Aphmau might be joining us."
The freckled girl sighed." That would be nice as well... I worry about her Garroth, I've never seen her act like this... I mean, she might've when we were gone, but I wouldn't know..."
" I know, but we can only hope she'll recover from this eventually..." He noticed someone else approaching." Aphmau, thanks for coming."
" Of course, I missed both of you so much... why are we all the way out here?"
"... Have you ever focused on something so hard that everything starts to blend together? You get so close that you can't tell anything apart? I don't know about you, but I can't be over there, where it all happened... it's too close. Everything comes rushing back, all the thoughts, the pain, the helplessness. It all plays in my head over and over, over here it's different, it helps me."
" I feel the same, as weird as it sounds, it's actually kind of comforting for me to be standing all the way out here..." Alex trailed off, noticing something coming out of the trees.
"... Garroth? Alex? What's wrong?"
Aphmau turned around before gasping as she recognized one of the people approaching from the forest.
" I really like what you've done with the place."
" You! Why're you here!?"
The bright-pink-haired girl responded." Because you have something we want, darling."
" Aphmau, who are these people?"
The Hispanic girl struggled to respond for a moment." Her name is Ivy, a former member of the Jury of Nine, the other... I don't know."
"Wait, one of the Jury!?"
Alex reached for her dagger.
" Oh, I see, well, this just got interesting. Oh... did we come at a bad time? Did someone you care for... die!?" She laughed after this statement.
Aphmau growled in anger, before rushing at Ivy, a sword appearing in her hand and wings appearing on her back, before she got thrown a few feet in the air, frozen in place.
" So the rumors were true!" Ivy looked delighted." Good, I would've hated coming all this way just for nothing. Though I will say I am a little underwhelmed, I expected more from the supposed 'matron.' Oh, what? Did you think you were the only one that was special?"
Aphmau growled again.
" Or... wait, wait! Did you actually believe that you were Lady Irene!?" She laughed again." Oh, this is just too good! You actually thought you were!"
" I'm coming Aphmau!"
Garroth got stopped by the man who had arrived with Ivy.
" I think the ladies can handle this on their own, don't you?"
" Then allow me to join the conversation." Alex rushed at Ivy before getting met with the same fate as Aphmau.
" Get out of my way."
Ivy spoke to Aphmau again." Oh so angry darling, you really aught to do something about that aggression, it's not a good look for you."
" Why are you here!?"
" It's no fun when I have to spell it out. We're here for you, or rather, that delicious relic inside of you."
" What!?"
" Leave her alone!" The freckled girl attempted to move, but ended up still stuck.
" Somebody's fired up huh?" The other man continued to speak to Garroth." I really wish you'd consider your approach."
" I'm not going to say it again."
The older man muttered something to himself before speaking a little louder." Guess I've got no choice."
He knocked Garroth to the ground, causing the previous guard to fall unconscious.
" Garroth!"
" I swear once I can move again-!"
" Can't say I didn't warn you."
" Uh, uh, uh." Ivy spoke again." Gavin, go easy on that one."
" Why? Cause you like him? You said that about the last one to."
" He's a Ro'meave."
" He is? Well then, looks like you'll be coming with us."
Before he could move towards Garroth, another person joined the fight, another person Alex didn't recognize.
" He's not the only one."
" And we were just getting to the climax... Gavin, we're going to have to fall back."
" Now you're starting to talk my language!"
" I hate leaving things unfinished, but we'll pick up where we left off for next time, promise."
" Oh Vylad! It really is you! I can't believe it!"
Aphmau and Alex approached the two reuniting.
" I-I've missed you, are you hurt?"
" Am I hurt!? That's not the question you should be asking me! I thought you were dead! And now you're back!? Do you know how much I've missed you!? This is incredible!"
" It's a long story, but I'm more concerned about you."
" Just a couple of bumps, nothing serious. I'm glad you're here, but you could work on your timing better. I wouldn't mind if you showed up a little sooner next time."
" That was... That's not why I'm here, but I'll keep that in mind."
Alex spoke up." While I'm sure all three of us are interested in the reason you are here, I also don't think we've been properly introduced. My name's Alex." She offered the hand that wasn't holding her dagger for him to shake.
" Vylad."
" Nice to meet you, now with that out of the way, why are you here if not to help us out of that mess?"
" And where've you been!? You've been missing for days!"
" It's Laurance... I think he's in trouble."
