Our Daughter ( Season 3 of MCD; Episode 3)

     " Any word on Zane?"

     " No... we were foolish to let him slip away in the Nether. The Brightport Guards haven't found him yet."

     " I'm afraid we underestimated his intelligence. He knew it would be pointless to try and attack us so he decided to make his escape by using what was happening with Shad as a distraction."

     " Don't worry about Zane, he isn't that much of a threat. Besides, we have what he wants, and when he comes to take it, we'll be there to catch him."

     " I'm not taking any chances, I'll be dispatching a search party to track him down... Where are Leona and the girls?"

     " They went to the market with Liochant."

     " They did!?"

     Katelyn sighed." Garroth, you don't have to be uneasy about Liochant, trust me!

     " I'm just going to go check on them."

     " Garroth!"

     " You'd think that after what happened with him and Zane and the Irene Dimension he'd be a bit more forgiving."

     The group in Bridgeport soon began worrying about Phoenix Drop's best source of information on Irene and began the journey home. A day of traveling later, they stood in front of the Librarian's home.

     " Emmalyn... Emmalyn! Are you there?"

     " Odd... Emmalyn always answers the door quick when you come knocking."

     " Emmaly! Emmalyn!" Aphmau turned to the others." What if Zane got here first?"

     " He did leave Brightport long before us."

     " Stand back. I'm going to break down the door."

     Before he could do just that, Emmalyn opened the door, looking like her usual annoyed self.

     " Can you guys keep it down!? I was in the middle of a good book!"

     " Oh Emmalyn, we were worried about you!"

     " Oh thank Irene... I mean thank Aphmau... I mean- you know what I mean!"

     " Aphmau!" Emmalyn's face brightened at the girl." Oh, I'm so glad you're here!"

     " To be fair, you're always, always, glad she's here." Garroth pointed out.

      " Because! She is Irene! That's like meeting your hero in person every day Garroth! And she was your friend this whole time! And she had a baby!? It's like mini Irene! Please, come in, come in!"

     " Glad to see that even after all these years, Emmalyn still has that... spark."

     Aphmau laughed." I'm still not used to it, but Alina thinks it's funny so... eh?"

     " I hope you don't mind I just gave the girls some cookies," Emmalyn spoke after everyone was inside." Kawaii~Chan made them for me, and Dante brought them over when he came to check on the fragment."

     " That's what we came to check on as well, is everything secure?"

     " As ever! If someone wants this they'll have to pry this from my cold dead body." 

     " That sounds like what Alex used to say before the whole Irene Dimension thing... Don't say that Emmalyn, you living is most important to me."

     " Well, then I'll gladly give up the fragment if it means you'll be happy..."

     " Have you managed to find out any information on this fragment?" Garroth spoke up.

     " Unfortunately... no. Keynmur went to the Meteli library to try and find more books on the Shadow Lord and fragments but... well... you know how people love to burn information."

     " Where would we even begin to find books about Shad?"

     " Probably not in our region."

     " Unfortunately there's been nearly a Millennium since Shad even existed outside of the Nether. I doubt there's much information on him remaining even in other regions."

     " I need to know more about him..."

     " Well, you do you know! It's all up there in your noggin! You just need to remember, after all, he was your lover once, you should know everything about him."

     " That's right... I-"

     " Wow! Pretty fairy!" Everyone turned to Alina, who was looking out the window.

     " Huh?"

     " A fairy! Here!?"

     " That's strange... I'm going to go see what that's about. Garroth, keep the girls here."

     " I'm on it."

     " Alex, you probably should come in case magic is needed."

     " I doubt it, but alright."

     They ran out of the building before following the fairy across the road to a patch of grass, before there was a flash of light, and an illusion of a familiar elf appeared, before speaking.

     " Aphmau, it's Zoey. Please, forgive me, I am unable to make it in time, so I sent a fairy messenger in my stead. I have to make this quick, it's concerning the heart of darkness we found so long ago. I'm sorry for not having told you this but... about two years ago, the faint heartbeat, it had stopped. I cannot explain why, or how, but the disturbing part is... a few days ago it took form, and it's asking for... Irene."

A/N: And here's chapter three of season three of MCD, almost a thousand words. As anyone who's read the first two books of this series ( Sweetheart and Non-Stop) knows, I really like musical theater, and have once before ( with In The Heights) put my version MCD/ Mystreet characters into roles in a musical... and I've done it again! This time with the musical version of Legally Blonde, this Idea isn't thought out as my first one, but the basic idea was Garroth would be Elle Woods, and Alex would be Emmet Forest, specifically with the song Chip on My Shoulder... As always I hope someone at least somewhat enjoyed this chapter, please comment if you feel like it, any to all comments make my day, and have a good day!
