A Lord and Her Guards ( Season 2 of MCD; Episode 92)

     " Laurence! What do you think you're doing!?"

     Alex's eyes flew open before she quickly sat up, hearing her old friend's name, before taking a second to realize what was going on. In an instant, she leaped up, before throwing herself across the clearing, creating wings on her back to propel her along quickly, before landing next to Garroth, green energy floating above the palms of each of her hands.

     " Garroth? Alex? Are my eyes lying to me again?" Laurence sounded just as surprised as Alex and Garroth both were. He was in his shadow knight form, and appeared to have just attacked Aphmau." What are either of you doing here!?... No... that's not it... were you fooled by Zane's tricks again!? You idiot! Can't you see he's playing you!? And Alex-!"

     " Calm down! Laurence, I realize that thinking quickly is a good trait for guards to have, but you've overlooked quite a lot! Just look around. That's not Zane! I understand that after what you've been through it's easy to jump to conclusions, but in order for us to get some information, Aphmau had to dress up and pretend to be Zane."

     " What!?"

     Aphmau spoke up." Laurence, calm down! They're telling the truth! It's me! This is just a disguise! I'm not really Zane!"

     " Aphmau...? It is you... I don't understand, what're you doing here? Where's Zane? I heard Zane was alive, and in Nahkara... that was you?"

     " Yes, that was us! We were pretending Zane was alive. It was a trick so we could lure Ivy out."

     " And by the looks of it, she got away." All four of them turned to Katelyn." Well, that's great, all that work for nothing."

     " Ivy? Who's Ivy? Wait... but Garroth and Alex are here, where is Zane? If they're both out of the Irene dimension, does that mean that Zane is out too?"

     "... No."

     " Zane's dead, it happened almost immediately after we got back."

     " Dead? How? When did this happen?"

     " It's a long story..."

     " We'll fill you in on all of the details, but for now let's get out of here, Ivy might be back with more guards... come on."

     " So... Zane and Aaron are dead?"

     "... Yes... Aaron sacrificed himself to open the Irene dimension, save Garroth and Alex, and in the process kill Zane"

     " I owe him my life."

     " We both do..."

     " I've missed so much..."

     " Yeah," Katelyn spoke up." That's what happens when you decide to go on a walkabout with no warning and go missing for days. Where have you been Laurence? You just up and vanished, no word, no nothing."

     " I've been... away... working on some things. I just needed some time to reflect on myself. I didn't think I'd be away for so long, but before I knew it, I was all the way out here... and then I heard rumors of Zane being back, I had to know if they were true."

     Aphmau sighed." Well, we're glad you're back with us Laurence."

     " It's good to be back."

     Katelyn spoke again." What's the next plan of action Aphmau?"

     " I think... we have to go back to the Phoenix Alliance island."
