The Escape ( The Non-Cannon Chronicles; Episode 4)

      " Lady Alex, I have some flowers for you from your Mate down the hall."

     The freckled girl got up and opened the door, taking the flowers from the werewolf." Thank you."

     She closed the door, before reaching into the middle of the bundle of flowers, pulling a small slip of paper from it before placing the flowers in a vase that had been placed there by a maid for that exact reason.

     Emmalyn got up, running over to her friend." What's the news?"

     Alex skimmed through the paper, her expression turning into one of concern, before she put it away in her pocket and answered the librarian's question.

     " We'll be having company... they have them... they have Alina and Lilith." She sat down, placing her face in her hands." This is my fault, I should've have disclosed their location even if I thought no one was listening in, because clearly someone was."

     " But Hyria, the forest, how could they have gotten through?"

     " She focuses on keeping Humans and those from Tu'la out, the werewolves native to the area had never been a threat to the forest so she had no reason to try and keep them away... I should've been smarter about this."

      " Alex, remember last week you told me about how it wasn't my fault they were in Phoenix Drop? That we'd figure out a plan? Think of this as a new opportunity rather than a failure."

     " A new opportunity... of course! Their magic-user was down at the docks when we arrived, I could sense it, which means they can only use their magic in short-range, which means... they'll be bringing Hyria in when I'm asleep. Emmalyn, can you get me a pen and paper?"

     Emmalyn watched through the window as a group of werewolves walked away from the castle, heading in the direction she knew had the docks.

     " Alex... Alex, they just left."

     The freckled girl got up." I had a feeling they wouldn't dare leave until after they knew for sure I was asleep." She summoned her armor." I'll signal the others, it's showtime."

     Earlier she had written the following letter to her friends who were elsewhere in the castle.

     " Dearest Garroth,"

     " I appreciate you notifying me about the situation with Alina and Lilith earlier, and with Emmalyn's help, I managed to form a plan for us to escape. This will take place later tonight, after dark, when the werewolves head towards the docks to bring Hyria and the girls back to the castle."

     " I have no doubt that since they'll need their magic-user down at the docks for Hyria, they'll wait until I'm asleep before they have her leave the castle, as her magic is very short range. With that in mind, I put Emmalyn on watch so that after I'm asleep, which I believe they'll wait for, she can wake me up after they've left and we can put our plan into motion."

     Alex summoned more magical energy as her eyes turned back to the shade of emerald green everyone was used to, changing away from her natural heterochromia. She quickly summoned a huge amount of energy, creating a bubble surrounding the area from the castle all the way to the docks.

     " As soon as I'm awake, I'll summon a magic barrier larger than the one they have, that will encase the surrounding area to stop them from using any magic, and give ensure my magic will stay in the process. This will be your signal, as when I summon this magic, there should be a green glow coming from the window of the room Emmalyn and I are staying in. As soon as you see this, leave your room, summon your Divine Warrior armor, if that's the technical term, and meet Emmalyn and me in the hallway."

     " Garroth, Dante, I'm glad you got my letter."

     " Of course," The blue-haired guard smiled while Emmalyn ran down the hallway and pushed open the window at the end of it." It had 'escape' in the first sentence, how could we ignore it?"

     " Alright." Alex summoned her emerald wings before picking up Garroth and flying out the window.

     " At the end of the hallway we're staying in is a window, that will be our escape point. A little ways away from that window, outside the castle, is a tree. I'm going to need to summon a pair of wings and fly you outside so that you can push the tree over to allow Dante and Emmalyn to climb down it. From there we'll make our way down to the docks, sneaking through the woods. However, first, before we can head in the direction of the werewolves, we'll need to find a patch of mud or something else similar to cover ourselves in and mask our sent."

     " Alright, they're coming this way."

     " Got it." Alex turned her attention to a nearby bounder and magically threw it across the path, before continuing to control it, moving it through the grass to imitate the sounds of people walking.

     The werewolves turned their attention towards the direction the sound was coming from, before Blaze nodded to his companions and him as well as most of the group ran into the woods following the sound.

     " Alright, this is where my skills end."

     " We are going to have to sneak up on the werewolves who are escorting our friends, and once we get close enough to them, I'll summon a distraction. From there, it's up to you and Dante to take down any remaining werewolves surrounding our friends. As soon as we have them, pick up one of the children and run, we'll need to be hasty in our attack and get out of there quickly while also being silent, if we can't succeed in both of those tasks, we will probably fail."

     " Alex? Garroth?" Hyria looked at the two, confusion in her eyes." How did you know we were here?"

     " It's a long story, although technically we were here first," Alex said as she picked up Lilith." We're going to get you all out of here but we need you to stay quiet... and also roll in mud."

     " I hope this letter got to you, and wasn't read by any of the tribe members, and I hope we can pull this off quickly and quietly without problem, please keep watch tonight."

      " Yours truly, Alex."

A/N: There we go, the next chapter. I was part way through the chapter when I suddenly realized 'Wait, what if I wrote out the letter as the chapter goes on, like if this were an episode the letter would be read out loud as all the steps were completed... As always I hope someone at least somewhat enjoyed this chapter, please comment if you feel like it, any to all comments make my day, and have a good day!
