"But he's right next to you like always?!"
Tanji watched as the blonde started having tears in his eyes.
"W....what....?"

When I was younger I saw my daddy cry

Tanji turned to her papa confused.
"Papa I don't understand..."
Izuku smiled and ruffled her hair.
"Sweet pea.... Daddy can't see me..."
Tanji looked between her daddy and papa.
"But..."
Tanji looked around. She could see a floater glaring at her. He had dark teal hair that looked messy and dark red eyes.
"But you're not like the other floaters... I thought..."
Tanji began tearing up as she reached for his arm and felt the warmth of it.
Izuku smiled and patted her head.
"Why don't you go give Daddy a hug ok?"

And curse at the wind

Tanji approached her dad and hugged around his waist, barely able to reach it.
"I'm sorry Daddy... I thought you could see him... I didn't mean to hide it from you..."

He broke his own heart and I watched

Katsuki looked down at his daughter and slowly ruffled her head.
"Heh..."
Izuku watched them. He hated how heartbroken Katsuki looked.
Tanji watched as her Papa approached and kissed her dad's forehead.

As he tried to reassemble it

Tanji watched as a peaceful expression fell over her dad's features and the tears seemed to lessen.
"Tch.... that damn nerd should be moving on. Not following me around..."
Tanji smiled as she heard her dad trying to cheer up.
"Come on firecracker, we should take you to see a quirk doctor."
Tanji smiled up at her Daddy and then turned to her Papa.
Katsuki looked at the place where Tanji was looking and smiled as tears gathered up again in his eyes.
Tanji was happy to see her Daddy smiling
So she didn't complain when she was taken to the doctors and looked over.
When Katsuki and the doctor left to talk, she turned to Izuku.
"Papa... if you're a floater, why are you still here? Floaters leave if they're happy."

And my momma swore

Izuku smiled and sat up on the exam table with her.
"I would never move in without Kacchan-Your dad."
"But-! What if he forgets you... he can't see you like I can."
Izuku smiled and gently combed through her hair.
"That's ok... I'd never forget him. So I'll wait."

That she would never let herself forget

Tanji tried to imagine waiting for someone. Watching them live their life, while you're stuck just watching it happen. Not being able to help when they're down.... not being able to comfort them and just having to watch them suffer... it seemed horrible.
Tanji huffed and crossed her arms.
"It's all those pro heroes fault! They shouldn't have promised you something that wasn't going to happen! I hate them!"
Izuku looked at his daughter with surprise.
"Hold on! You can't hate pro heroes! They're always protecting everyone- they protect us so we can live happily-!"
"They didn't protect you! I promise I'm never gonna like pro heroes...!"
Izuku sighed and laughed quietly.

And that was the day that I promised

"You never know what's going to happen in the future... don't be so quick to hate every pro ok?"
Tanji looked up and slowly nodded.
Izuku kissed her head and smiled.
"That's my girl."
"We have the results!"
The doctor walked back in smiling with Katsuki.
"Congrats firecracker, you got your quirk."
Tanji smiled and swung her feet.
"But it's not just seeing ghosts. Tell her doc."
The doctor nodded as Katsuki walked back over to Tanji.
"Your quirk is called Death's gate. With practice and as your quirk grows, it's predicted that you'll be able to make them visible to others as a soul and even control them. You can make deals with them and make them your familiars."
"So I can make papa visible!"
The doctor smiled forcibly.
Katsuki smiled sadly and patted her shoulder.
"Not quite Tanji... He won't look like papa. I'd see him as an aura. It'd be like around you I can feel his presence but not see him."
Tanji deflated a bit.
"Hey it's ok firecracker. Just work on that quirk ok? And be careful making deals with ghosts. Some of them aren't good."
Tanji nodded but smiled.
