We all arrive at a closed white door with gold trim and Indi's Aunt waste no time bursting through the huge doors. I follow in sheepishly beside them as my eyes fall on a woman about my height with short black hair and skin the same color as mines. The woman looks up at us, smiles briefly, and turns her attention back to the obviously younger and much taller girl in a dress. The girl was gorgeous, she had long, shiny blonde hair that stopped at the middle of her back, piercing blue eyes, and pink lips. She was wearing a sparkling blue gown that brought out her eyes perfectly and gold jewelry accented her body. The girl gracefully walks to each x conveniently marked on the floor, stopping and courtesying once she reaches the final x near the front of the room. She waves softly and elegantly, her eyes settling on spots in the room almost as if it were planned.
"Yuck!" the older woman shouts, snapping me out of my heavy concentration on the girl. "That was not what I choreographed at all! You remind me of a tractor barreling down the road at me at full speed, not to mention, I can see what you ate for every meal today. Why are you not following the accurately planned eating schedule that I provided for you?" the woman questions and the girl looks at herself in the mirror. "Relax babe, you know that high school feeds those kids like 40-year old truckers on a late Saturday night," Aunt Blu says smiling. "Aunt Marley, don't you ever get tired of having to come up with so many insults all the time?" Indi questions, reaching out to hug the woman. The woman, who I know now is Aunt Marley, reaches out to hug Indi as she looks over at me. Indi steps back, dropping her embrace on the woman, and turns around, following her eyes towards me. "You are gorgeous!" Aunt Marley shouts, making her way towards me. "Have you ever considered doing pageants?" she asks excitedly, reaching out to grab a strand of my hair to examine. "Um, no" I answer, looking over at Indi for help. "Catra is from Etheria," Indi says, coming to my rescue. "Oh, is this one of your little soldier friends?" Aunt Marley asks disappointedly, "Where's the rest of your battle squad?" she questions, walking back towards Indi. "They're back on Etheria, (Y/N)'s not doing so well," Indi confesses sadly. "Again? That poor girl can't catch a break," Aunt Blu chimes in worriedly. "I still don't understand why y'all decided to go back there and fight when you have a perfectly good home here," Aunt Marley says, exasperatedly. Before Indi can say anything Aunt Marley turns around, bringing her attention back to the girl.
"Addison has won Miss Moon Manor for the past 6 years, at the end of the month, she will compete for her last and final time and hopefully secure her 7th consecutive win," Aunt Marley explains, motioning towards the girl. "However, if she continues to binge eat like a washed-up country music star, the only thing she's going to leave that pageant with is a lifetime of embarrassment," Aunt Marley continues. "While my niece Indigo is here, you need to be trying to ask her for advice on how to gain another win," she says, smiling at Indi before turning harshly back to Addison. "I'll see you tomorrow," Aunt Marley says, waving her hand in dismissal to Addison. "I hope you're hungry, I told the chef this morning to have your favorite meal prepared for dinner tonight, I didn't know why I had such a strong feeling to do so but I do now," Aunt Marley says happily, looking Indi in the eye. Indi smiles and reaches out to touch Aunt Marley's hand. "I was thinking that Catra and I would go and visit Master Reign and Cleo also invited us to her party tonight," Indi says shyly, rocking back and forth. Indi's Aunts look her up and down before crossing their arms. "You can go after you eat, you know the rules," they say together. Aunt Blu and Aunt Marley take each others' hands and walk out of the room together, talking and laughing about their day. Indi looks at me and walks toward me, a smile on her face. "How could you leave all of this for the Horde?" I ask, obviously jealous and upset. Indi blinks and a wave of guilt washes over her face. "I didn't leave for the Horde, I left for my dad," Indi says, her voice sad and soft. "Remember I got sent to that special school? That school was literally on an entirely different planet, this one, and after I graduated I stayed here for a while but two years ago, I made the choice to come back to Etheria in hopes of having a better relationship with my dad but obviously that didn't quite work out the way it was supposed to," Indi says angrily, pushing past me and out of the door.
