In the third floor...
Erina was at the edge of her seat as she watched Micah and the Siren size up each other, they were not being aggressive but were hostile. Even the glass wall could not cut the tension between them.

Two strong males, one born and raised in wild, who knows his strength and weaknesses. He probably has been to many battles with his own kinds or big sea creatures while the other had only come to existence for a week, had shown aggressive behaviour and killing intent but he wasn’t aware of his strength and weak points. He was but an infant in front of the other despite his long physique.

However, even if Micah had not yet reclaimed his human conscience, in the end he still possess human instinct to some level, especially when it came to his own life so, Erina was excited to know who could be the possible Victor in a battle against natural and man made. She was about to order her people to lift the glass wall for them but her entire body twitched after she saw them glaring at each other for the last time and retreat back from the looking glass area, into the other side.

She released a disappointed sigh then leaned back into the seat, her eyes closed as she tried calming herself down from the thrill of nearly watching a battle to having blank reaction. Her eyes flew open and she scooted back to the edge and clicked on the transparent keyboard, the screen changed to River who was still in hiding as he tried calming himself down.

A smirk appeared on her lips and a look of envy was apparent in her face. “If they don’t want to fight themselves then I could only force them. River, you are my lucky charm, always presenting yourself when I have been at the end of my line. You gave me solution to my problems, twenty years ago and after all these years, You still pave way for me”, she spoke as she watched River in the screen.

A satisfying smile took place on her lips, completely replacing the smirk from before, “I promise to give you the best life when my dream comes to fruition. That’s the least I could do for you after what I am going to need from you. We have both have been in our journey since we first met, so we are legally family”, she said and stood up then moved closer to the screen, “And I will never abandon someone, even if they were to make a small mistake”.

Extreme grief and slight hate was evident in her words and her expression which seems to be pointed towards someone from her past as her eyes casted a shadow of memory that seems to still haunt her. A single streak of tear rolled down her right eye which snapped her out of trance, she wiped it off then returned to her chair.

After she clicked a number, “Increase the temperature in inner circle and give all of them enough food to eat. On my command, prepare to lift the glass wall of Subject H3 and Subject M... Into the inner circle”, she said and she could already hear a protest at ready from the other end of the call. Veronica was extremely against this order but didn’t know how to word her feelings.

“Nothing will happen to River, I am only doing this to see who comes victorious between an experiment and a true born. They didn’t seem to have any reason to fight so, I am giving them one. Increase the temperature and when I say ‘Go’, release the beasts”, she continued and hung up. Veronica gritted her teeth but relayed the order to others who were on same level as her with the order but they couldn’t do anything.

Inner circle glass cell...

River had finally calmed down from the unexpected shock, before this Veronica had always informed him about things so that he would have time to prepare himself but this time he wasn’t given any heads-up and suffered such shock. Now that he had regained his soul, he drifted up from the rocks with a push and floated on top of them.

Maybe it was because he had a one way conversation with Ronald and even gave him a name, River found him more comfortable then the organ flasher and new roommate. So, he swam to the glass wall where Ronald was and ignored the hostility he received from the guy.
