Erina slipped off the bed, stark naked and leisurely walked up to the mini fridge, she took a can of cola and drank it. Her eyes lingered on the silhouette under the blankets on the bed. Her and Olivia had the talk over dinner.

Her eyes softened for a moment but it was just for few seconds then it returned to it’s original, “I don’t care”, look.

She grabbed her night gown then walked to the balcony as she put it on. She looked up in the sky as the stars shone bright. This was the second building in the organization which was three storey tall but it was made in a shape of arc so it had many rooms. This building was the sleeping quarters for the people in the organization.

There were few assigned people who flew out from the place to get necessary things and everyone else remained inside the facility, they only left in case of emergency. Erina had only recently moved in here herself but this place felt more like home then the house she owned in the city.

It had been one whole day since subject H2 had fully transformed and she realised it was because of River. The boy had managed to do something every one thought was already done. Researchers were baffled upon seeing new creature, they had thought subject H2 had already transformed.

Those two seemed more closer than before and she didn’t mind it but this was not her intentions for the boy. Siren and River had to be close before he became close with others. She needed those two to be more close! her grip on the balcony railing loosened as she went back in and out of the room.

Few hours ago, Inner circle....

Perfect eyes, nose, mouth and jawline was what greeted River when he turned back. The boy looked more like a man and very handsome at that. River quickly turned away, “Nonsense! You.. I know you are nineteen, I read your files”, he stuttered then internally yelled at himself for acting like a teenager.

Riley moved and stood in front of River’s face, surprising the boy, “You read my files? How?”, he asked innocently which didn’t match his face. River turned to the other side once again and wondered if transformation was like plastic surgery. “They showed it to me when telling me about you to be cautious around you”, he said.

“Oh”, he heard the guy say and he quickly turned around, “What oh? You were the one acting like a monster. It was only human of them to be scared and cautious with you. Now, you can change that and help us to get solution to this problem”, he said then swam out of the cell and into the inner circle. River finally remembered Wayde then swam towards him.

As before the guy was still angry and disgusted with him but instead of getting angry at him and ignoring him, River just stared at him which slowly made the guy self conscious and River laughed which just boiled Wayde’s anger and hate.

Riley followed River and stood beside him, ignoring the look on Wayde’s face, “What do you mean solution to this problem?”, he asked then he heard hiss and growl from the creature inside the glass. River turned to Riley and finally remembered what he had said, he must have said it subconsciously.

He wondered if he still wanted to be human but instead something else came to his mind, he turned to look at Wayde with complicated expression which made the siren to stop his growl and hissing. Wayde sensed longing, familial need coming off of River which made him remember his own family, his tribe.

Wayde finally realised how caught up he had been with River that he forgot to plan his escape. All three of them sensed each others emotions and became overwhelmed with such complexity of their own nature. “I wanted them to understand me in order to get cure for this tail. I’m terrified of ocean, I have nightmares about huge shark like creature since I was a child. I thought I couldn’t live like this then I met you two and something inside me says, I am who I am supposed to be”, River answered Riley’s question.
