When the lust finally settled and both of them calmed down, River turned to Wayde and smiled lovingly, “Thank you. I know it must have been hard to do that but really! Thank you”, he said and kissed Wayde all over his face.
“If pulling out means this much attention and love filled gaze from you, despite my instinct screaming at me to breed you and have you carry my child then I think we need to go for round two. I believe I can do much better at pulling out”, Wayde chuckled and teased. River grazed his fangs at the mark that he just left on Wayde when he heard the guy tease him.
Wayde’s hold on him tightened and the guy moaned after his mark was grazed. It shot down Goosebumps all over his body and he loved every bit of it. “Well give it a try”, River said as he looked into Wayde’s eyes. “Alright, let’s go with different positions this ti- ow!”, Wayde groaned in pain as he was hit in mid sentence by the boy and the stronger among the two Chuckled. They moved further down to test River’s theory.
Wayde followed River’s guidance and hummed a tone which made his body vibrate but when nothing happened, he felt a bit disappointed. He sighed and reached out to pull River to tell him it was fine and appreciate the boy for trying to help when River yelped and groaned in pain as soon as he held the boy’s hand.
“What happened? Are you alright?”, Wayde panicked in concern and was hit by River on the chest but still heard the boy cry in pain, “Hurts! Hurts! Let go! Let go of my hand!”, River spoke loudly. Wayde quickly released his grip and saw a dark blue line on River’s wrist. His eyes narrowed and was about to reach out again when he paused mid way.
“I think it worked”, River groaned as he rubbed his wrist. “As I thought it enhances inner ability or strength but it your case it just took a literal turn. Your whole body is glistening and when I hit your chest, I felt like I was hitting a steel wall that had loose wiring”, River explained in detail on how the feeling was when Wayde grabbed him and when River hit his chest.
The old world Siren was dumbfounded and still in complete disbelief. He swam to a big piece of rock then held it much tightly than he had held River. The rock was powdered when he opened his palm, he turned to River and looked at him with surprise, shock, disbelief, confusion and love. Wayde swam back to River but kept his distance, not wanting to hurt his mate.
“How do I stop it? Can I even stop it? I don’t like it! I can’t touch you”, Wayde honestly spoke with deep concern. River chuckled, “Of course you can control it... I think”, he teased then swam away from the guy. “It’s not funny! I don’t want it!”, Wayde followed him hurriedly.
River stopped when he saw Zale appearing in front of him, the look on the guy’s face was pure anger. He turned his head and when he saw Wayde, he flashed straight at the guy. Wayde brought his arms up when Zale used his tail to slam him but then all he heard was loud curses and painful howl from the guy.
River’s eyes widened and he rushed to Zale who was holding his tails and thrashing on the ground. “Fuck! Zale, don’t move! I think your tail bone’s broken”, River tried stopping the guy from moving but he heard the guy yell more loudly after hearing what he said. Merfolk started gathering around them and soon mills family and the twin’s parents rushed towards Zale.
“What happened?”, Dessa cried when she saw her son howling in pain. “He broke my tail!”, Zale managed to scream out as he pointed at Wayde. All eyes turned at Wayde with confusion and shock. Dessa turned to Sera and called her over, the hybrid creature sat next to Zale’s tail and hovered her hands over it as she hummed a high vibrational tone. There was a loud crack followed by thunderous roar from Zale as soon as she stopped.
River felt very uneasy and in pain himself from watching Zale’s condition, he wiped the black hair out of the Beluga skinned boy and tightly held his hands. He felt Zale squeeze his hand with gritted teeth and closed eyes. “Honey, let him embrace you”, River heard his mother say and only then did he noticed that Zale was trying to pull him down for a hug.
He crouched down and soon strong shaking hands wrapped him and a very hot head dropped to the crook of his neck and rubbed their skins together. Zale had stopped groaning in pain but his breathing was still laboured.
“What exactly happened? How did you break his bone and the Crystal shield around his tail?”, Dessa asked and only then everyone noticed the crushed crystals flying around them. “I don’t know, all I did was bring my arms to the front in order to block his attack and he just started screaming”, Wayde answered nonchalantly.
“It’s his ability”, every one heard River answer. Wayde sighed, he wanted everyone to think how weak Zale was despite his big mouth but River just had to out him like that. “But he doesn’t have royal blood in him, how does he suddenly have powers?”, Kyle asked as he looked at Wayde in anger then at his son and River.
Even Zale moved and looked at River in confusion, embarrassment and annoyance. “I... I had a theory about these powers and we tested it and now we know it works”, River answered. Mira looked around then waved others to go back to do whatever they were doing then asked the family to head inside the palace. They all agreed and moved to get inside.
When River tried moving away from Zale, the boy held his hand tightly. River turned to look at the boy in concern, he thought Zale was still in pain but when he saw the expression on the boy’s face, he understood what he wanted. River relaxed and squeezed Zale’s hand then didn’t try freeing himself. They followed Mira inside the colourful coral palace, decorated with crystals.
River explained them what happened, except for the “Pa Pa Pa” and watched them look at him in disbelief. One by one every one tried touching and hitting Wayde and they all hissed in pain and looked at him in shock. “Everything we know just seems like nothing after all of you came in. This will destroy our system, our titles as royals will mean nothing if others learned of this”, Kyle spoke grimly.
“What system? There’s literally seventeen Meridians and thirteen Tridians left. You should feel lucky that they haven’t abandoned us and fled to live somewhere else in peace. That system was full of nonsense and outdated. This is actually great news! There is no major change if you think about it properly. It just helps royals to choose normal mates and turn them into ability users”, Mira said in a happy tone.
Dessa also agreed with her and Kyle shut his mouth after that. Mira instructed Wayde to use the song once again and they learned that he could turn back to normal after using the melody. They were all hungry and exhausted after all that had occurred, so they ate first then discussed the matter further after resting.
Zale never left River’s hand, even while eating and since the guy was hurting, River didn’t say anything but he noticed the glare pointed at Zale from others. Riley and Brandon even glared at Wayde when they saw the mark on him. Brandon was mostly annoyed and angry because he was the only one who hadn’t had anything going on with River. He didn’t even know where they were in terms of relationship, was he just a friend or did he have a chance at becoming something more?
The children group were eating separately while the elders ate at the other side. Zale looked at Brandon then turned to River, “What about him? Is he still your best friend or do you want him to be in the circle?”, he asked bluntly. River was dreading this topic, he knew he loved Brandon but he was still not sure how deep it ran. He was hurt and upset when they parted ways and he was delightfully happy when he came back even though he didn’t want his best friend suffering in this world.
He already had Zale, Destan, Wayde, Riley and now if he added one more being, it could just seem too much. He understands that the system here had no rules on how many lovers one could hoard but he still had human system engraved in him. He had only accepted the twins because of the situation but he also felt more complete after being marked by them which he blamed on the blood promise.
“I don’t know, I love you Brandon but this just seems too much to handle. Is it not already awkward for everyone? I know the information exchange brings us together but I was just bitten after only meeting the twins for few days. You all are already fighting and it’s just too much. I just feel like I’m being reserved for making babies”, River honestly gave his opinion.
“I don’t care if it’s him. He will just stop moping around if you mark him. I will allow it if he can’t mark you. Not every chosen mate mark their mates, only dominant ones mark their centre mate and usually there is only one or two dominant mate in a group”, Zale spoke and emphasized more on the last part.
“Can you stop treating them as nothing but a collection? And I don’t think I need anyone’s permission if I did decide to do something. Your old system can go rot somewhere because it’s trash and hateful. I just want time that’s all, Let’s just focus on the things that is more important”, River said then munched on his food.
They all rested after eating and then continued practicing their abilities. The sun was about to rise, so the group of thirty Sirens swam to the shore. They saw figures floating over the surface and soon went up and came face to face with elves.
“You actually managed to bring them”, Haldir said in a surprised tone. The merfolk were hostile towards the humanoid looking creatures. Calen hushed her brother then said, “Dragons roam around usually after the sun is bright. Fairies told us that more dragons have entered since last night, making their numbers reach to ten. We have to travel to east mountains where pixies have located their resting place, you all have to come out of water”, she informed.
Kids followed the elders as they all climbed up the rock and slowly started shedding their tail. “No pain? This easy?”, Olivia asked as she watched all around her. “Magical world, no pain and no moon needed”, Mira answered as she stood on her wobbly legs. All the boys quickly looked away and heard Mira chuckle. Even the elves were looking at the head turned boys in surprise.
Zale and Destan were the only one who hadn’t turned their heads. They rarely ever shifted to legs, so they didn’t have the sense of shame from being naked. Even elves didn’t care about nudity but just to seem proper and complex, they had come up with wearing short cloth to cover their organs between their legs. However, they all were “free the nipples” kind of creature.
Elves helped the already shifted Siren up on the cliff and only then River and the gang climbed on top of the rocks. All remaining eyes were on River. Wayde, Riley and Brandon were the ones who wanted to cover the boy while Zale and Destan were enjoying the view.
“Well?”, River said then the remaining elves grabbed them and took them up the cliff. The protective boys covered River by standing around him and they followed everyone. When they reached the place where River was kept last night, they gawked at the colours of nature all around them.
This was the first time for the Sirens to come this far on the land and they were observing everything with curious looks. Erina spoke as representative of the royals and brought up the terms that she had come up with and there was loud murmur among the colourful species.
Since they didn’t have much time, they had to agree with making blood promise. Once done with the pact, the leaders of the elves quickly called out for animals. Mills family and friends looked wide eyed at the black, brown and white Creatures who flew towards the group and landed in front of them.
Haldir was about to speak when Olivia beat him to it, “Freaking Pegasus?! I know after seeing what we have, this shouldn’t come as a surprise but I can’t help it! I always wanted one when I was little”, she emotionally looked at the majestic creatures. Haldir swallowed his words and saw River snicker at him with a smug look.
Apparently, Erina had prepared crystals shield for everyone and the elves provided garments for the Sirens in return. Folks who controlled animals and nature itself, used it as means of transport while other rode the flying horses.
“Luckily the portal to their world isn’t far from where they are now, so we have to be quick and effective when we make them fly that way. We cannot harm them but we can make them go in one direction. River, it’s you and your family’s job to make stop them from attacking us. Dragons don’t like cold and rain, fairies will cover that part, pixies will help amplify our magic while all of you will make sure it works”, Calen explained the plan and the part Meras were playing in it.
Heavy clouds were covering the sky and as they flew in tension towards the mountains, they did enjoy the view from top. Luscious green was everywhere they looked and vast land with different structures greeted their eyes. To old world people the place looked heaven, with no buildings or other human made infrastructures while it also seem bothersome without any human made things.
They actually preferred ocean better now as they deeply thought about it. All the creatures halted and screeched in panic when ten Dragons suddenly flew all over the mountains. They had woken up earlier than expected and with all the food they need, right at their home, they seemed extremely delighted.
