The three blood bounded mates sat in dazed as they processed the information they gathered about themselves. Zale was really conflicted, he wanted to stay angry at River for having fornicated with others while him and his brother couldn’t even get sexually interested at anyone.
But now He knew that the boy had remained in similar position to them in that matter and had only recently been involved with those two Sirens. His teachings which was old values were clashing with new knowledge and he just grew more frustrated. He swam towards River and tackled the boy to the ground then kissed him hungrily and in frustration.
River gasped from surprise and was further assaulted with the perpetrator’s long and domineering tongue. His claws dug into Zale’s shoulders when he tried to push the guy off of himself but heard the guy moan and found himself being kissed more hungrily as the boy continuously humped on him.
Zale unwilling let go of River’s swollen and bruised lips and stared heatedly at the glossy green eyes, “I waited for you my whole life and from the moment we met, you have looked at me with nothing but hate. I know why but it still doesn’t heal the pain I felt and am still feeling. I’m yours and you are mine but you also have others. You had them before me and I don’t like it!”, Zale confessed then dropped his head on the crook of River’s neck and sighed.
River wanted to be angry but because of the information exchange, he knew exactly what Zale meant and felt. He understood his frustration for not having anyone to blame on how their lives turned out and He also sensed how pure Zale’s heart was, the guy acted rough and tough to protect that heart. He had seen his friends and relatives die and his life was always in a constant terror.
River also learned how much Zale enjoyed living in old world where things were much simpler than the new world. The boy thought how in the old world, every one seems to have figured out what and how many creatures dwelled the land and water while here it was still a mystery. And Zale hated himself for liking old world better than his home where every one he knows were suffering.
River sighed and spoke as his body shivered, “I understand and it’s alright. You are entitled to feel what you want” as Zale kept licking his mark on River’s neck as his prized possession and finally he left the boy alone. Destan already knew how passionate his brother was and how much he had teased him about never allowing him to touch their mate when he was found and brought back.
River watched as the rough guy had completely turned away from him to hide his embarrassment from showing his needy side and loosing control in front of him. He then looked at Destan who gave him a knowing smile and exhausted sigh, “Let’s go fix this problem”, he said to both of them and got up.
They swam to the guest cave where the three of them sensed many emotions, pride, concerns, anger and jealousy. The twins were patted on the shoulder by their parents as they thought the three of them had a full blown coitus for an hour they remained in the cave. River flashed images to his family regarding what happened, omitting the kiss and humping and saw three of them relax.
“Let’s feast for this wonderful occasion then quickly head to the temple of goddess and purify Meridia”, Dessa said out loud and brought everyone to dining cave. Large numbers of foods were placed in crystallized rows of containers. Apparently the crystals kept the food fresh for a month after hunting.
“This is the final batch of food that remains for our people since the last hunt”, Dessa told them as she picked up huge chunk for River. The boy felt awkward for being treated differently than other but still reached out for the given food. He was starving but still offered the food to his family first and only then did he eat what he kept for himself.
Mira and the royal couple were eating in one spot as they spoke about the situation in both kingdoms and the threats with the two new family members, Erina and Olivia while The young ones sat in circle on the other side as they ate their food in tensed atmosphere, except for River. He didn’t know what he could do or say to stop five men who were involved in his life from glaring at each other in the group. It was twins against Riley, Wayde and Brandon.
River remembered about Brandon’s condition and turned to Zale, “Release him from your control. I don’t want him to be your puppet”, he spoke in annoyance because the guy was making Brandon share his food with himself, River and his brother, leaning Brandon with little to no food.
Zale didn’t even look at River and said, “No, this is me being even with you. I will only release him if you promise to make me your dominant mate and no, don’t start with how you consider every one to be equal. I don’t want that. It is me, my brother then them”, he proposed a deal.
River had eaten enough to satisfy his hunger then he got up and swam towards his mother, “I am ready to do the purification thing, let’s go. I don’t want to drag this any longer. I did wanted to ask if this doesn’t work, what are your plans?”, he asked the people in charge.
“We can always travel away from the place once the true crystals are charged up. Home is where the family is. Our numbers are small to battle out the threats from land and we can’t remain close to surface as we get attacked by the air”, Mira spoke and River thought it was reasonable while the twins’ parents didn’t want to leave. They went on and on about ancestors and the kingdoms being their home forever.
“I think we should form protection barrier all over the place with ferocious sea predators and remaining warriors while Rhael here starts preparing to bear child from our sons. We need to repopulate and only he seems to be immune to the infertility, I guess it is because of his mixed blood. You were right at last”, Kyle said to Mira.
Wayde, Riley and Brandon were standing behind Erina and Olivia and when they heard what the twins’ father said, their urge to tear the Siren apart was very strong, “His name is River and Do you honestly think that is great idea? You think he will pop out a child in two days? What if your protection circle is crushed by these unknown creatures? We all will be in danger and we won’t be able to protect River if he gets pregnant which is not happening against his will!”, Brandon spat before Riley and Wayde could and they patted his back, showing their agreement.
However, the boy groaned and clutched his head in pain. River’s webbed spine needles wings spread open as his hair floated on will and he hissed menacingly at Zale. The remaining ten warriors from Meridia and five from Tridia came rushing in, ready to defend their royals.
Zale felt a pang of bitterness and fear from being snapped at by his mate but he didn’t flinch. He felt his brother pinch his skin to stop being a douchebag but he didn’t pay any mind to the pain. He was annoyed that the Brandon spoke without being asked to speak to his father and a bit angry when his rivals supported the rude guy but now he was enraged when his own mate stood up for the guy.
River watched as Brandon spat blood and every one cowered in the vicinity when thunderous bright blue lights circled his entire body. He was being nice to every one all this time because he kept trying to see things from their perspective but now his life was being planned out by a guy he didn’t even know and he supposed mate was torturing his best friend.
“That’s enough!”, Mira scolded Zale and the boy stopped immediately as he watched River with wide eyes. River was glowing in bluish green lights and his eyes were bright green while his mid neck length hair flowed as if being blowed by wind. The spine needles behind his back also rattled together as he warned Zale to back down.
“River, calm down. You will worn yourself out like this, you know you will never hurt him. It will only make you weak if you continued exhausting your ability. You have to use it on the crystals in a moment, son”, Mira gently spoke to River and the lights disappeared. River’s body swayed a bit and his mother quickly held him in tight embrace.
“My son, you are so powerful! Beyond your mother or your grand parents ever were. I think if we train properly then we don’t have to go anywhere”, she said happily and she kissed his cheek. River watched his real mother act affectionately towards him and his angry heart cooled down instantly. He felt a surge of energy being pushed inside his body through her and soon the dizziness he felt, vanished.
“Can we just get this first thing done in both kingdoms? I just want to see if it makes any difference and if there’s no change then... Mom? Do you want to go to old world? There’s no life threatening creatures other than humans. I think you might like it there”, River asked Mira. She just gave him a sad smile, “I think I will like that too but it’s the place our goddess fled from because her entire family died in the war. This water has her essence, her life force, in all these crystals and our abilities. We don’t belong there but if you want to return... I... It’s up to you, River”, she replied.
“No, I don’t want to go back if you are not coming along. It’s just seems like a war zone here and to be frank, I have lived a very peaceful twenty years of my life. I just learned new things and it’s cool and all but it’s scary too. I don’t want anything to happen to anyone of us. I just met you”, he softly said to his mother and she squeezed his hands as a understanding gesture.
They all calmed down and River completely ignored Zale’s existence. He was then led to the temple of goddess which was built on the upper parts of the cave palace. A huge royal blue crystal stood engraved in one wall which could be seen from the entry, there were blue and purple crystals on other two sides of the walls, engraved in similar way.
All the family members were asked to stay outside of the temple, Zale and Destan followed River to the inside of the temple. Zale swam to the blue crystal and touched it which made it glow, Destan went to the purple and same thing happened then they swam to the middle of the cave. River watched as Zale cupped both of his hands together in U shape, the area above his hands started to frizzle as if boiling.
River looked at it in amusement, this was Zale’s ability, heat. Destan slowly waved his hands all around the bubbling part of the water and soon a large icy crystal was starting to take shape. Because of information exchange, River knew what he needed to do, so he swam to the middle and joined the boys. Zale had stopped using his ability when Destan had taken over, River concentrated and hovered his hands around the transparent icy crystal which was as big as other crystals in the room.
Sparks of bluish green lights circled around his palms as his hair started flowing and his pupils turned into slits. The Electricity flew through his hands and connected in the crystals which started glowing blue, purple and green. River stopped and Destan took the crystal to the top, in the ceiling. Zale followed and took out the one which was placed there, that old crystal had lost it’s power for a long time.
It was replaced with the new crystal that was mixed of three colours, blue, purple and green. As soon as it was placed in the place, all three crystals hummed and started glowing brighter. The boys swam back to the entrance with their families who were watching with excitement. A beam of light representing each colour shot through the three crystals, forming a triangle and it went straight into the longer and bigger royal blue crystal in the last remaining wall.
As soon as the lights came in contact with the huge Crystal in the wall, the soothing humming sound became louder and the lights flowed through the royal blue crystal into the walls, floor, ceiling, every where. It soon flowed out of the cave and everyone gasped in amusement as it shot right under them.
The entire people present inside the palace swam outside as they followed the colours and when they exited the cave tunnel, they saw the colour disperse all over Meridia causing their surroundings to sparkle and vibrate with life. Just like that every area for miles away was now partly purified.
All fifteen warriors present cheered happily and others smiled as the first part was accomplished. Now same thing needed to be repeated in Tridia which was one day away from Meridia by tail but they could reach there in a ride by sixteen hours.
Mira nodded to her warriors and they all made a gargling sound through there throat. River’s green eye lit up a bit as he tried to see in his memories, what that exactly meant then his eyes widened and his mouth slowly opened. Erina, Olivia, Riley and Wayde were looking at him and they wondered what it could be, for him to show such expression. Their curiosity didn’t need any further waiting as a long and wide creature swam towards the warriors.
Clean and glistening crystal like skin, four flappers like sea turtle at the front and a fish like tail at the back. There eyes nearly popped off when it landed on the head of the creature. It had fins in place of mane and it’s ears were webbed while it resembled a horse head. “Hippocampus!”, Erina said out loud, she really knew all about the mythical creatures. “This place just gets weirder and weirder”, Olivia whispered.
“Hippocampus, I like that name better! We just called it using the sound it made”, Mira said as she smiled at River and the gang. The boy’s eyes were still lit up and his amusing expression morphed in disbelief and fear. River blinked and hid behind Riley and Wayde.
The Meridian warriors produced whistling sound and the recipient returned it back. All there eyes darted to the behind of the cave palace and all old world members of River’s family huddled up closely when a black and white creature came rushing to the Meridian warriors. It had similar features to the hippocampus but it had two flappers at front while two webbed hind leg at the back with long dolphin like tail. It resembled killer whale from old world.
“That’s Sacros, riding beast of Meridia”, Destan explained and everyone heard “Again, Weirder and weirder”, coming from Olivia’s mouth. There were four hippocampus and five Sacros. River sat with his mom and Riley on one hippocampus while Erina, Wayde and Olivia shared another. Twins’ parents used one Sacros while the twins and Brandon used another. The remaining rides were shared by the fifteen warriors.
The journey to Tridia started and They occasionally stopped to hunt together with their rides. River remembered his time in water park while he swam with the creatures. He became friends with them in matter of time and now there were more Creatures who fell in love with him. There were many normal looking creatures in the sea and he told his new family about the predators that he knew about through the information he got from twins and his mother.
There weren’t much of them in these two kingdoms that couldn’t be fought with, just huge squids, octopus, giant jellyfish and great white sharks. They stayed out of the Meras territory and since the appearance of dragons and other Creatures, those predators seems to have travelled far from the two kingdoms. No one had left the kingdoms before, so they didn’t know what other dangerous Creatures existed outside of their safe bubbles.
They spent the night in resting cave they had built using rocks, crystals and sea weeds. River talked to his mother all night about his life even though she already knew it in first hand experience. Mira happily listened to him talk and so did the Mills family, yes, they decided to call themselves the Mills. River had managed to bring Brandon in their cave and surprisingly Zale didn’t say anything.
River did want to invite the twins into the Mills family resting cave as it was already full and also he thought it could get awkward. The twins only talked to him and his mother, Destan did get close to Erina and Olivia but the other boys ignored each other. He let them be, it wasn’t his place to force them into knowing each other. He thought they might do it in their own pace like Wayde and Riley did, those two literally acted like real brothers now.
