Chapter 13

Everyone gets out of the cars and follow Kreese and Johnny. The stop and we line up into two lines facing each other.

"Gentlemen. Ladies. Welcome to Coyote Creek." Kreese says looking around. I stand next to Hawk at the front of his line.

"What do you think you're doing?" Johnny whispers to me. I scoff, "None of your business".

"Get out of line. You aren't participating" he demands. "You can't tell me what to do. You want to start acting like a father, go back 16 years." I roll my eyes and see Kreese smirking at me. It probably isn't the best idea since I just got my second treatment today but whatever happens, happens.

Kreese continues, "You've been split into two teams. Red... and black. The goal is to capture as many headbands as possible from the other side. Today, the people across from you are not you're friends"
Tory and I smirk at eachother. "They're not your brothers" I see hawk and Miguel eyeing eachother. "They are the enemy. The last team standing. Wins."

Everyone splits up and I follow Hawk into the woods. "So johnny's really your father, huh?" he asks
"Apparently. Can we talk about something else?" I ask as he starts to climb up a tree, "Like what the hell are you doing?"

He laughs, "The names Hawk, princess. Might as well put it to use. You aren't actually playing so just stay there behind the tree." I sigh and walk away. "Where are you going" he yells and I just keep walking. Until I hear Hawk scream and jump right onto assface, ouch.

"What the hell, man?" Assface asks

"Sorry, assface. Today, you're the enemy. That makes five kills. Guess I earned my medal of honor." Hawk smirks. I shake my head, I thought he gave it back. Assface walks away and Hawk turns to see me standing there, watching.

"Now princess. Can we finish our conversation?" He asks smirking. I roll my eyes, "go ahead".

"So we gonna talk about last night or what?" He says coming closer. "There's nothing to talk about. You couldn't handle it so you kept quiet." The darkness in his eyes fade a little, showing a sign of Eli.

"You didn't give me time to talk. Your rushed out so quick, you couldn't let me get a word in. Gotta work on that, princess." I roll my eyes. "The hair didn't bother me. I just wasn't expecting it. So I think you owe me an apology"

"Yea right. If anything you owe me an apology, mohawk" I say.

He grins, "Oh so now it's mohawk, huh? Better watch what you say princess, I'll talk you here right now." My face turns red, he looks around to make sure no ones around before shoving me against a tree and kissing me, fiercely. He seems more aggressive than before, meaning Hawk is officially taking over. I push him off of me, "You're supposed to be fighting people. Wouldn't want to distract you." I wink at him.

"Well you're pretty good at that. We'll finish this later. Go up to the front, where people who are out are. I don't want you to get hurt" he demands and kisses me. I scoff and walk the towards the front, "Oh come on princess! Don't be like that, you know you love me!" I ignore him and keep walking.

When I get to where everyone else is I see Tory and Aisha there where everyone else is. We're all talking until we hear Hawk and Miguel fighting. We all walk towards where they are, and there they are. They both look angry like they are actually fighting, not just for the game. Hawk is on the ground with he feet against miguel's stomach on top of him, "Is that all you got!?" Hawk yells and kicks Miguel against the tree. Hawk stands up throwing a kick to Miguel but missing, hitting the tree instead. Miguel sends a kick to hawk, that he was unable to block. They both throw punches at eachother until Miguel elbows his neck, twisting his arm and putting his hand against his neck, making him vulnerable for attack. Miguel bends down wrapping his arm between hawks leg and flipping him over onto the ground. Miguel stands over Hawk, rips his head band off and stealing the medal of honor. "That's all i've got" Miguel says to Hawk before walking away.

"Finish him" Kreese says to him.

"What? No, Miguel!" I yell. Kreese looks over and smirks. Miguel sends a kick to Hawks face making him unconscious. I gasp and run over to him putting his head on my lap.

"TEAM BLACK!" Miguel yells not turning back once to look at Hawk.

"I'm ok princess" I nod and he stands up "But I did like where my head was" He smirks. "You're gross, go away" I giggle and he walks towards his group.

Johnny walks over to Miguel, "What the hell was that?" Johnny asks. "That's not how I taught you to fight."

"It's what sensei Kreese taught us. This isn't a tournament, this is real life." Miguel says.

"Is that how you want to live your life?" Johnny says and walks away. Miguel frowns. Johnny starts to walk over to me but I turn and walk towards Hawk, I have nothing to say to him.

I'm kind of glad I didn't participate today, I can feel my treatment start to kick in and it's all hitting me at once. Trainings over so we're all allowed to go home. I don't have the energy to drive so Hawk drives me back to the dojo so I can go in my car and get my phone and bag. I get back in the car and we go back to my place. We lay in bed for a little and watch a movie, "I can't believe i'm watching this?" he says.

"Why it's cute" I kiss his check. He has a huge bruise forming on his face from where Miguel kicked him.

"I just don't get it. How does he not see this? Like that she's faking it?" I'm making him watch How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days with me since all I want to do is lay in bed. It's cute to see how involved he is in watching movies. I promised we could watch Harry Potter another day but not the one that Dobby dies in since we'll both cry at the one. The last time we watched a movie together, Demetri was with us and he was still Eli. I miss Demetri we haven't talked since the day that Hawk attacked him at the mall. I think i'm going to text him later and see if he could hang out, we need to catch up.

"And you say you don't like the movie but you're so involved in it," I laugh. "I'm only watching it because you're making me." he scoffs. "Yea, right" I say.

My mom hasn't been home since we went to the mall today. I have no idea where she went but if she wanted me to know she would tell me.

Two days later, Tory and I are at the mall shopping for new clothes for school. It's Tory first day at West Valley High so we want to make sure she looks good. I get a couple of shirts and so does she. We find an out fit and as we're sitting in the food court drinking our coffee a boy spills his soda on our table. "Yo watch where you're going" Tory says to the group of boys.

"My bad, beautiful. What are you two babes doing here by yourselfs?" one of the boy says. He has brown hair with brown eyes. I roll my eyes and look the other way.

"Oh don't be like that. You guys got boyfriends because If I was you guys boyfriends id never let you out of my sight" They all laugh.

"Yea we do, thanks though" I say standing up grabbing Torys hand.

"Well I don't see them anyway. Why don't we be friends then. The names Cameron and this is Jake and Will" he says while pointing to the two boys next to him.

"Tory and Lillian" Tory says. I look at confused on
why she would do that.

"Where you guys headed to now?" Cameron asks.

"We're just walking around" I say.

"Okay, we'll join you" he says. I roll my eyes and turn to walk the other way. This day could not get any worse.
