Chapter 11

Mom and I head home, and she heads to bed. I climb into bed and check my phone.

Miguel

Hey, we haven't hung in a while.
What are you doing right now?

Nothin. Do want to hang with me and Hawk later. You can invite Tory?

Bet. Do you want to hang together for right now?

Sure. I'm on my way.

It's only 9 and I have a couple of hours until Hawk wants to meet up. I hope he's ok with me inviting Miguel and Tory.

I change out of the black dress I was wearing into gray sweatpants, a cropped tee, and a flannel. I grab my keys and walk out the door. Mom's already asleep so I don't need to worry about her finding out I left.

10 minutes later, I arrive at Miguel's, and he's waiting outside. "Hey dummy," he says.

"Ouch, hey"

"Wanna just sit and talk?" he asks. I nod, agreeing.

"So how's you and Hawk?"

"Um, were good. I'm just worried that karate is changing him for the worse and Kreese isn't making it better"

"I agree. I think I'm going to talk to Sensei about him. I don't like how he made you fight."

"It was my choice, Miguel. Either way, I cannot once Johnny comes back. He'll never let me" My phone vibrates non-stop in my pocket. I pull it out and see multiple texts from Hawk.

I have your location. I'll come over right now if you don't answer me.

I roll my eyes and shut my phone off. I'm not in the mood to fight right now. We're still sitting in the parking lot of Miguel's complex. "I'm going to go in and grab a sweatshirt. I'll be right back," he says. "Okay"

Maybe Hawks just jealous that I'm with him. Or insecure. I don't know, but he should know I would cheat on him.

The door to my car opens and I jump. "Holy shit, Miguel. You scared me!"

He laughs. "Sorry. Torys here." We both get out of the car and walk to where Tory is. Hawk and Tory are together at the corner of the street, waiting for us.

"Hey babe," Tory says, hugging Miguel.

Hawk rolls his eyes and walks past them over to me. He puts both his arms around my waist and pulls me in for a kiss. "Hey," we both say.

"am I still staying over at your place tonight?" I ask.

"Yea if you still want to" Schools officially out so I can spend all day every day doing whatever I want.

"Great. I have my appointment tomorrow so I can't spend all day there" He nods and grabs my hand, walking back to Miguel and Tory.

We walk around the streets for 30 minutes just talking. Tory and Miguel end up walking back to his apartment, wanting some alone time. Hawk and I sit on the curb in front of his house.

"What are you thinking," I ask him.

"How lucky I am to have you." He kisses my forehead.

"Can you promise me something?" I ask.

"Oh god. What?"

"Not to let karate change you."

"What do you mean? Karate has changed me for the best." He gets defensive.

"Just don't let Kreese get to your head. You've already done enough"

"I don't want to fight with you And if that's what you want, I promise I won't let it change me"

"Thank you," I kiss him. I'm sure if I believe that he actually meant it, but he said it.

"So about finishing what we started," he smirks. I giggle and grab his arm and drag him inside his house to his bedroom. He puts his hands on my waist and shoved me against the wall. His hand travels up to my face, aggressively kissing me. We go to the bed, he lays down and I sit on top of him, my hands traveling up and down his chest. When they reach the end of his chest, I lift his shirt and take it off. My lips kiss every mark of his body starting from his chin. When I kiss down his neck, he moans. His hand on top of my head, stroking his finger through my hair until he stops. I lift my head up and look at him.

"Is everything ok?" I ask.

He looks at me, not knowing what to say. I look at his hands and see strands of my hair in between his fingers. Oh no. My chest gets heavy and I climb off of him, standing next to his bed. "I I-" I stutter, trying to find the words. He just looks at me, blankly. I head for his door and head downstairs. I hear footsteps heading down the steps, following me.

"Lillian wait!" I don't listen and just keep walking. I grab the front door and run out. God, I'm so embarrassed, it just ruins the moment. Tears start streaming down my face. I look back to make sure he's not following me, and I see him standing at the end of his driveway. I keep walking. It was more embarrassing because he said nothing and just looked at me. He probably found it as a huge turnoff.
