Chapter 30

It's the next day at school and Hawk and I spent all day together yesterday after school. He explained why he didn't show up and said something came up at home so his mom took his phone. We laid in my bed and watched the whole Divergent series along with the snacks and candy from Dems gift basket, Hawk still doesn't know it was from him. He just thought my mom bought it.

The school day has gone by fast and it's already time for lunch. I enter the Cafeteria looking around for someone to sit with. I don't see Hawk anywhere and either way, he's going to sit with Cobra Kai, so he's no use. Demetri walks into the cafeteria with a huge board covered with a cloth. 

"Hey Lil, want to come to see my project?" he asks.

"Of course!" I say and he leads the way to... Yasmine's table. She and I have never talked again since that day. I didn't want to talk to her let alone look at her. She was my best friend and on one of the worst days of my life, she wasn't there for me. Since when were he friends with her?

"Hey! You ready to rock our earth science presentation?!" Demetri says to Yasmine while pulling a seat out and sitting down. She looks at me while I stand behind Demetri, my hands resting on the back of his chair. 

"Oh my gosh, hey Lillian!" Moon says excitedly while Yasmine just looks away. 

"Hey," I say back. 

"I'm ready to go back to a world where we don't have to talk on a regular basis." Yasmine scoffs at him.

"Hey, hey! My popularity's on the rise, while yours is steadily declining," he says. One night ill always regret not staying for, watching Yasmine get a front wedgie at the cannon. "But, uh, maybe we can meet in the middle, like a sexual Venn diagram" he finishes. Yasmine makes a disgusting face while Moon laughs. I don't have beef with Moon but she was my replacement. 

"So what's under the sheet?" Moon asks.

"I'm glad you asked," Dem says standing up and ripping the sheet off. "Behold, what scientists believe to be the valley when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Go ahead, press the hadrosaur egg."

Yasmine presses and bird noise start coming out of it along with steam out of the volcano.

"Wow Dem, this is awesome," I say

"Not bad," she says, "My parents may not have to pay for my A this time."

"Oh your parents will never have to pay for an A again," He says.  

Hawks POV

"Hey, 22 in a row, new record!" I say proudly, turning around to see my girlfriend looking at my enemy like he's the only one in the room. Anger starts building up in me like there's no tomorrow. I told her to stay away from him and she just can't listen. Why didn't she come over at sitting with me? Why does she always choose him over me? 

"Damnit Lillian" I mumble to myself. 

Will he always just be better than me, always getting what I want and taking it for himself. You would have thought the beat down at the mall was enough for him to leave us alone. And To make it worse the second girl I've always liked is also sitting there, Moon. Why are they all laughing and smiling at him?

Lillians POV

"This thing is a masterpiece. I mean, everything's to scale. And at 8,251 individual pieces, this meticulously assembled model represents the exact moment before the asteroid hit-" A ball comes flying over and destroying Demetris project. 

We all duck and cover our faces so we don't get hit. The whole lunchroom gasps at the project that is not destroyed. 

"Holy shit," I say and look up to see Cobra Kai laughing because....... my boyfriend was the one who kicked it over. My eyes land on him as he walks over and rolls his eyes at me, making eye contact with Demetri.
