I woke up pretty late today; it was already 10 am and I have to be at the park by 1. So that gives me 2 hours to get ready.
I get out of bed to start my shower and see my mom and Mrs. Moskowitz staring at me through the hallway. This is weird, "Uh Hi Mrs. Moskowitz. Why are you both staring at me?" I ask, walking closer to them.
"Oh, no reason, dear. Eli will drive you to the park today, he's already here, but he's out getting snacks," said Mrs. Moskowitz. I nod and walk away so I can finally get ready.
That's the thing about my mom and his mom being best friends. My mom and I are always at his house or they are always at ours. At first, it was weird, but as Eli and I have gotten a lot closer, it's not as awkward to hang out.
When I'm done with my shower, I sit at my makeup desk deciding on what I want to do with my hair and makeup. I end up curling my hair because who knows how long I'm going to do that and for makeup, I just apply some blush, concealer, and mascara. I stand up and put on a pair of ripped jeans with a gray t-shirt and white air force 1's.
As I'm ready to walk out of my room, I remember I should really pack a bag, just in case. I grab my mini black backpack and put a couple of beanies in there, water bottles, and pain medication.
When I go to open my door, I see Eli standing there, ready to knock.
"Oh hey, sorry, I was just going to ask if you were ready to leave, " he asks shyly. See, even if he has a mohawk now, there is still some Eli in him.
"Yea, we can go now."
We both say bye to our moms and walk to his car. I get in the passenger seat while he gets in the driver's seat. The park is about 30 minutes away and for the past 10 minutes of the ride all's he's been talking about is now that he can drive, so he wants to buy a motorcycle.
"You're funny if you think I'll ever get on the back of that," I tell him and laugh.
"Why not? It's totally safe. I'll let nothing hurt you, you'll be holding on to me. And besides, I want you to be the first one to ride on it with me when I buy it".
"why would you want me to be the first one?" I ask, surprised.
"Because you mean a lot to me, and if you didn't know, I do really like you. As more than a friend Lillian," he looks at me, smirks. I'm trying so hard to contain my excitement.
"Wait really? I really like you, too. I've been wanting to tell you, I just haven't known how" he smiles and laughs.
"Do you want to hang out tomorrow then?" he asks
"Like a date?" I turn and smile at him.
"Yes, like a date," he laughs.
"Yes, of course, I would Eli" He smiles at me and by now we're already at the park. I grab my bag and get out of the car. He comes to the passenger side and grabs my hand, leading me with him.
We walk up to the rest of the group at a park bench. Aishas eyes go wide as she sees Eli and I holding hands. I don't know why they look so surprised since now that he's Hawk; he does things like this all the time.
"Wow, what is this? Are you guys like dating now?" Demetri asks.
"No, we're just talking, " Eli answers before I even get the chance to think of what to say.
They all nod in response and go back to whatever they were doing. He lets go of my hand and fights with Bert, poor kid. He's like half his size. I walk away and go sit down next to Aisha.
