10 months have passed since the infamous job at the city of Altay, the Fairy Tail guild being flooded with more dangerous jobs and being the hub for reporters from Sorcerer Weekly, who buzzed in like annoying mosquitoes sucking out answers from all of the guild. Speaking of which the familiar face of the reporter Jason irritatingly pestered master Makarov for information on events in Altay that he is forever hearing these days.

"Oh my god Master Makarov you are so cool care to tell us the details on what happened in Altay" Yelled Jason loudly his fists pumping in the air as he leaned in way to much of master Makarov's personal space, as he was trying to quietly drink his beer.

Makarov's hand whipped around doubling its size as he thwacked Jason across the back of his head nearly sloshing his drink in the process. "Quiet boy I'm trying to relax here. And you should know what happened there you are forever asking these pointless questions" Makarov said his voice rising in volume as he thrust his tankard in Jason's throbbing face.

"I know master but the COOL mages Elfman and Evergreen as well as Lisanna are never here to tell me the details" Jason complained pouting as he rubbed his aching head.

"WELL DO YOU EXPECT THEM TO, WHAT WITH ALL OF YOUR NEEDLESS QUESTIONS AND POINTLESS RUMOURS, BEGONE BOY" Makarov yelled watching the reporter scramble away from him his numerous papers flying everywhere. "PICK UP YOUR PAPERS YOU CLUMSY CHILD" Makarov screeched huffing as he sat back down on the counter top. A sweet giggle tittered behind the master making his eyes narrow as he faced the oldest Strauss child.

"Nothing to be giggling about Mirajane those reporters though good for business can be a right pain in the neck" Makarov scolded beginning to sip his beer once more.

"That's true master" Mirajane said sweetly delicately covering her mouth.

The master sighed his eyebrows drawing down together creasing his already lined face unease rubbing his insides. His mind replaying the events from the two nights ago.

Flash back

Master Makarov walked down the cool cobble stones of the city of Magnolia the clear night sky easily illuminating the streets in its late hour. His senses pricked as he easily became aware of the presence behind him a stealthy shadow hardly detectable as it flitted through ally ways his magic just noticeable. Freezing in his tracts Makarov stood in the middle of the street never turning around as the stranger too froze in place.

"I know you are there show your face to me" Makarov said his eyes glowing brightly.

After a moments pause foot steps echoed down the quiet street pausing not ten feet away from the master. Swiveling in his place Makarov turned and memorized the figure cloaked in the pale robes of the Magic council his face hidden in shadow.

"Who are you magic council mage and what do you want" Makarov spoke plainly not trusting the tall man in front of him.

"I am here concerning one of your guild members Elfman Strauss as it would seem" the voice in front of him said arrogance dripping from his words.

Makarov's eyes narrowed his defenses already up eyeing the person in front of him.

"A particular division of the magic council would like to, how should I put it... acquire his new found magic and better learn it, for educational purposes of course" The man spoke never moving his face out of his shadow the moon rising slowly up behind him.

Makarov's aura flared around his magic lighting up the entire street as his voice boomed and rolled across the stone buildings.

"I know what division it is that has asked for this and I KNOW what it is they do to their resources of magic. I will not let you or any of your ilk harm or take one of my children away especially with your masters purpose in mind. You wouldn't use his ability's for education you would use it as a weapon as a threat to all of the land of Fiore, so NO I will not let you have one of my children" Makarov yelled his eyes glowing with a white fire as he paced towards the tall stranger in front of him watching him hastily retreat.
