Elfman cradled Lisanna's frail and thin body in his arms and moved to the bed at the very end of the ward. The sheets and blankets are soft and silky and blended in with Lisanna's hair as Elfman lay her on the pristine cot. Her hands grasped at his ensuring that he didn't go, and Elfman sat on the bed and eased himself down next to her. Elfman's little sister whimpered and her hands clutched at his and buried her face into Elfman's shoulder, tears leaking out of her eyes.

"Your hands" Lisanna whimpered, her fingers tracing the deeply scared tissue around his wrists. Elfman moved his hands away and wrapped them around her small body. He felt Mirajane sit down next to him and watched her hand reach over and stroke Lisanna's fine hair that was so fair it was almost like babies hair.

"Hey, its just another scar. Scar's fade, Lis" Elfman wrote and rubbed Lisanna's back. Lisanna took his huge hands in her own and held them to herself and lent her head into his neck.

"I've missed you so much" Lisanna whispered and Elfman held her closer and felt Mirajane cuddle up to him.

"I'm back" Elfman wrote and Lisanna looked at the writing with blurry eyes.

"Lisanna You knew that I would be back. You knew I would. Why have you done this to yourself?".

Lisanna clutched at Elfman's hands and sniffled. "I don't know".

"Lisanna-" Mirajane began and stroked the youngest sibling's hair.

"I DON'T KNOW!" Lisanna sobbed and buried her face back into Elfman's chest. The ward was quiet and Elfman sat up and kissed the top of Lisanna's head. Taking great care to remove his hands from hers, Elfman touched Lisanna's jaw and pulled her face up until they were looking each other in the eye.

"I would like you to stay at my place tonight" Elfman wrote and looked at Mira. "And you too".

"Of course" Mirajane whispered and Lisanna nodded desperately at Elfman. Elfman looked deeply into Lisanna's eyes a took in just how thin, how bony she has become. And a great rage filled his belly.
'How dare they! How dare the guild let Lisanna get into this state' Elfman shook with fury and Lisanna lent her head under the crook of his neck. Reaching up Elfman stroked Lisanna's hair with a trembling hand many times, before gently removing her head and placing it on the pillow of the bed.

"Elf-nii chan" Lisanna whimpered and clung to his hand desperately. "Don't go!".

"Shh" Elfman mouthed and slipped off the bed but kept her hands in his. "I wont go anywhere away from you. But I need to have a word with the guild." Elfman mouthed and accentuated each syllable so she could understand.

"No. NO" Lisanna edged closer to him and Elfman rubbed his thumb over her hands as she hiccuped close to him.
"You only just got back! please stay longer" Lisanna pleaded and tried to shuffle closer. Elfman felt fresh hot tears bud in his eyes and he stroked Lisanna's baby fine hair.

"I promise you that I won't go far. I promise" Elfman mouthed and kissed her forehead. "I'm so so sorry that I was gone for so long, and that I scared you so much".

"It's not your fault" Lisanna whispered. Elfman felt his tears drop and went to mouth more, when he heard footsteps thunder around outside of the guild, and his sharp ears twitched at the loud noise. It was far away that people with normal hearing couldn't hear it. But it was slowly getting closer and closer.

'What is that?!' Elfman thought and his face went pale as a nasty feeling sat in his gut.
'I need to see what is happening!' Elfman turned back to Lisanna and he felt her hands tremble as he bit his lip and gently squeezed Lisanna's hand.
"Lisanna I've got to go. But only for a moment" Elfman mouthed.
