Evergreen groaned as she felt this intense itching rub up and down the backs of her eyes, her palms grinding into them as she sat up from her bed. What the hell Evergreen thought as the intense rubbing did nothing to help the itching but more bruised her eyes making her whites become red and bloodshot. Her hand fumbled at the side table searching desperately for her glasses as the itching persisted making her hiss in frustration as her search attempts seemed pointless. Evergreen ripped the sheets off of her body as she lunged out of bed needing desperately a cool cloth for her face and a glass of water. A cool breeze tickled her stomach strangely drawing Evergreen's gaze as she slowly looked down gasping as she saw what she was wearing. Evergreen was clad in the same dress she wore at Altay, the same dress that is ripped into shreds streaked with blood after her encounter with the Manticore guild member the thin man Calador. Shuddering fear started to clog her throat as she slowly looked around the room, an unusual presence standing behind her able to be felt but not seen.
Clink
Evergreen jumped with a gasp escaping her mouth as a noise echoed from the kitchen on the other side of her bed room door. Pacing quickly forward Evergreen gripped the handle nerves buzzing as she looked around once more her arm wrapping around her unprotected stomach. Ripping open the door Evergreens hands that hand been unaccountably clenching relaxed as she saw Elfman's back to her.
"Hhh Elfman you scared the crap out of me" Evergreen said walking forward and wrapping her arms around his back, leaning into him. A smile graced her face as she felt his body turn around wrapping his own arms around her back his face pressed against her head.
"Where is your glasses" Elfman muttered into her ear before kissing it.
"I don't know, but that's not the only thing that's weird I woke up in this dress and something feels different" Evergreen said looking up at Elfmans jaw not looking him in the eyes. Evergreen leaned back a bit as she heard a small sigh escape Elfmans lips.
"...Evergreen you know I love you right?" Elfman said looking at her lips.
"What?, yes of course I know but what's this-" Evergreen began being cut off as Elfman hugged her again. Looking up Evergreen saw black dripping ropes wrap around Elfman's neck black veins appearing under his eyes like a web. No longer caring Evergreen looked him in the eyes watching slowly as blackness began to eclipse his eyes like ink staining water, until his eyes were nothing but black. Evergreen clung to his hands as he stood back a single tear rolling down his cheek highlighting his face.
"I've got to go Ever" Elfman said stepping back only one shaking hand holding her own now.
"Elfman, Elfman wait" Evergreen said feeling the same scared feeling she did in her room trying to grip harder at his hand that was sliding away. More black ropes wrapped around his shoulders dragging him away until his body was pressed against the door way his hand reaching out to her as one more tear dripped down his face.
"I love you" Elfman said before he was snapped out of her apartment leaving nothing but a cold empty room.
"....Elfman" Evergreen said a tear of her own running down her face sorrow and dread warring inside of her until she felt nothing else. Crying she mopped her face and scrambled to the door way the itching in her eyes intensifying as she neared the door way. "Elfman" She cried out of the door way into a mass expanse of white nothing but the bland lifeless colour stretching out away from her.
"Well who's this Elfman?"
Evergreen gasped fear ripped through her and horror as she recognized the voice in its deep menacing tones. Whimpering in fear she slowly turned around and faced a man clad in white magic council robes. His robes were tattered and old patches were missing from old burns and magical encounters, his scent had already filled the room with an odor of ozone that burned her nostrils. His hair was black streaked with grey and hung slightly passed his slim shoulders except for his bangs that were pulled up and back sticking out of the back of his head. A black skin tight surgeons mask clung to most of his face hiding all of his prominent jaw, cheeks, mouth and hawk like noes except for his luminous purple eyes that glowed in the dark room. Evergreen's cries caught in her throat as fear strangled her heart making it beat erratically, terror freezing her in place like one of her own stone statues.
"No I know who Elfman is that was a pointless question because he is with me now. What I should say is what is he to you Evergreen darling" The man said his tall lean frame leaning forward his voice hissing as he finished the word darling.
Evergreen's terrified eyes shone, more tears flowing out of them as she staggered backwards falling out the edge of her door way plummeting downwards to some unknown end with one word echoing through her mind.
"Dad"
With a jolt Evergreen woke bolt right up in an infirmary bed, a cry dying on her lips as cold sweat drenched her body her hands clamping her head as memories resurfaced in her mind. Her eyes widened and and she began to shake as she remembered the events that happened before her unconsciousness, the feeling of the black oily ropes holding her toying with her life. She remembered how Elfman immediately approached Calador and traded himself for her life and Levy's and how he tormented him in front of the guild as they were helpless to do anything for him. A sob finally escaped her throat as tears dripped down her face around her glasses as the horror of who Elfman was with finally set in sobs guttering out of her. A warm hand descended on her shoulder making her gasp as she twisted her head her blurry eyes barely making out the four forms of Bixlow, Freed, Laxus and Lisanna standing by her bed looking down remorsefully at her bed. Evergreen looked up into Lisanna's eyes as the girls own hand began to shake on her shoulder tears still falling out of the Strauss sibling's red puffy eyes.
"We will get him back Eva" Bixlow said his hand clasping at her own.
"Everybody in the guild is getting prepared to get him now, we should go soon" Laxus said looking towards the door. Although he wont show it he was deeply concerned for Elfman. He and the raijinshuu had gotten to know him much better as Evergreen insisted that they take him with them for some jobs, which in its self was a blessing as he was a much better cook than Freed and was an excellent fighter especially in his Manticore form.
"I....I think I know who has him" Evergreen said shaking as she slowly got out of bed moving past Levy's empty bed and moved towards the door. Feet drummed on the ground as her friends walked next to her the door being ripped open as master Makarov walked in next to Mirajane who's eyes were also red and wet.
"Mira I.." Evergreen began but was cut off as Mirajane walked forward and pulled Evergreen into a warm hug.
"This isn't your fault" Mira began as if she was reading her mind before removing herself giving Evergreens hands a squeeze.
"Evergreen do you know this person that has taken Elfman" Makarov said his voice booming across the room as his feature were livid with rage at the magic council.
"Yes" Evergreen started looking around the room missing Elfman more than anything in the world "But he is not the person behind this"
"Then who is it" Lisanna said looking concerndly at her.
"It...He...he is my father"
