"Say Reki, (name) hasn't come by in a while, are they okay?"
He froze, guilt washing over him in waves. "I- I'll be right back!" He shouted, grabbing his skateboard before tripping out of the house.
"Reki!" His mom shouted, watching him run off, skateboard clattering onto the ground.
His breaths are uneven, tears pooling in his eyes and dripping past his cheeks. How could he forget you? How long had it been since he's talked to you? Seen you? Were you at the tournament? With Miya, Joe, Cherry, Shadow, Langa? No... he never saw your name on the board, he knows you would've made it- you of all people would have made it.
A crack in the road makes him fly off his skateboard, turning his body to land on his back, snatching his board before running again.
Your house comes into view, pushing his legs to go faster than he has, rushing to the door and knocking hurriedly.
Your eyes looks back at his and before he can say anything, the door shuts in his face, his hand trembling when he raises it to the door.
"(Name), please."
The door cracks open before you step out, pushing his shoulder lightly. "What do you want."
He steps forward, freezing in his place when you take a step back. "I'm sorry, you have to understand." He hesitantly reached out for you, hand lowering when you showed no sign of wanting to be touched. "I don't know what you've been going through, and I know you probably don't even want to see me right now but," hesitantly stepping forward, continuing when you didn't move. "You don't have to go through this alone you know."
You stare at him, hand holding his chin to tilt his head. "I hate you right now."
He chuckled quietly, nodding his head. "Yeah, I hate me too."
He yelps when you turn his chin abruptly, "you, what happened to you?"
