"Is this... are we— is this romantic?" You ask, the broken sentences making it clear to him how nervous you were.
He toys at the knot holding his robe in place, rocking back on his feet — a clear sign he's nervous. "We don't have to do this, I just thought since we had a rough couple of days we could... try to do this."
"Right," you murmur. If anything it's him that's had rougher days than you. "Do you want to do this?"
"Only if you want to."
Only if you want to. Oh, how you loved the little —basic human decency— things he said and did for you. But did you want to do this? Shokichi is the most loving, funny, handsome man you've ever met, of course you wanted to.
"Alright," you say with a nod. "Let's do it."
The water sloshes to the rim when you step into the bath, Oka's hands wrapping around your midsection while his chin rests on your shoulder the moment you settle down.
"It's not so bad right?" He asks, and you have to bite your tongue when you feel the tub against your bare bottom.
"Totally." You say, "totally romantic, we should get some candles don't you think? Wine? Um, a charcuterie board?"
"A what?" He mumbled under his breath, though you still hear it from how close you two were. He feels you tense when he moves, lifting his head from your shoulder. "Y/n, if you didn't want to do this you didn't have to."
Again, this man. So perfect.
"What are you talking about?"
"You're uncomfortable!" He says, a laugh following when he catches a glimpse of your face.
You feel heat rush to your face as he laughs, from the sound to the reason behind it. "I just don't like the feeling of it," you mumble, "Being naked and stuff."
He hums, "You can wear boxers, or what do you wear? Briefs?"
"That is for me to know and you to never find out!" You sputtered, hiding your face. "I just wanted to try and be normal about these things."
"You know I never want you to do something you're uncomfortable with, whether it be a bath, something with cooking, something else, or even how we sleep." He mumbles.
You nearly clobber him at his innuendo, but you tell yourself that's for another day.
"I want you to feel safe and comfortable with me, so you don't have to lie and do something you don't want to."
You crane your neck to look at him, a frown on your lips when you wrap your arms around him. "You're so sweet Shokichi!" You sob, burying your face into his shoulder. "I love you."
He couldn't help but laugh at your outburst, rubbing your back —though it felt weird considering you're naked. "I love you too. Just, next time tell me what you want. You don't have to follow my lead."
"I just wanted to do something you wanted without hesitating." You mumbled, "But okay. I'll do that, you do too."
"It's a deal."

A/n: I started writing this I was like... "I hate baths, I love oka... yes."
