"Janet?" Derek asked. Meredith immediately transferred back to her wheelchair

"Yes, we have that and yes, she can" Meredith heard Derek answering, she started to pace around

"So.. tomorrow afternoon?" He smiled "Tomorrow you'll bring her home?"

"Oh my god" Meredith gasped, clenching her hand in front of her mouth

"Thank you, Janet. We won't disappoint you!" Derek said as he hung up the phone "Mer, our baby is coming home tomorrow afternoon!"

"Oh, Derek! Finally!" She sighed as they hugged each other

"Janet will bring her after your PT session"

"I'm so happy, Derek!" She said while he lowered himself to her level to hug and kiss her deeper.

...

"Mom?" Derek started during dinner

"Yes, dear?"

"Our baby is coming home tomorrow" He said with a huge smile on his face

"Oh, guys! I'm so happy for you. I'll do some grocery shopping before, how does that sound?"

"Thanks, Carolyn" Meredith smiled

"I can't wait to meet my granddaughter!"

...

"Mer? Do you need help getting dressed?"

"Yes, please" She sighed. She already put on her shirt by herself but she needed help putting on her pants, socks and shoes

"Of course" Derek said before helping her get changed. He gently puts her legs in the pants before lifting her while she pulls them up. Once her pants were on, he grabbed her feet and started putting on her socks, making her legs spasm "It's a good sign, Mer. It means your nerves still react. We just need to work on getting the sense back and then we can start working on more, okay?"

"Our baby is coming home" She whispered with a big smile

"She is" He smiled back, finishing putting on her socks and shoes "Are you ready to go?"

"I only need to grab my jacket" She replied

"Nervous?"

"A little.. PT isn't the most fun thing to do"

"Do you want me to stay?" He asks as he opened the door for them to leave the house

"No, Derek. Go and save some lives" She smiled, wheeling herself towards the car

Derek opened her door "I'm gonna try it myself" She smiled before placing her chair on a good spot next to the car before pulling herself up into the seat. "That went well" She sighed in relief as she placed her feet in the car before Derek closed the door and put her wheelchair in the back of the car

"Off we go" He smiled as he started the car

They kept talking about the stuff they want to do with Zola since she's gonna be back today. Carolyn was already spoiling her with baking some cookies while Meredith and Derek need to go to the hospital

Once they arrived they basically did the same, Derek got out, placed her chair next to the car before they went into the hospital. Only to cross Alex and Cristina

"Hey, Mer! Christina yelled before walking over to Derek and Meredith, followed by Alex

"Hey, guys! How are you? Busy day?"

"Seems like nothing is happening outside" Cristina sighed

"Are you okay, Mer?" Alex asked

"Oh, I'm just heading to PT but we have some great news" She smiled before Alex and Cristina were looking at her with big eyes

"Zola's coming home today" She smiled reaching for Derek's hand and squeezing it

"Really?" Alex's jaw dropped "Mer! That's amazing! He smiled before hugging her

"Are you okay, Evil Spawn?" Cristina frowned

"I.. Yeah.." He said before their pagers went off

"We need to run" Cristina said

"Bye, guys!" Meredith and Derek yelled before they disappeared. Meredith and Derek got into the elevator and pressed the button to the PT floor.

"You sure you're gonna be okay?" Derek checked once he dropped Meredith off at her physical therapist.

"Derek, go! Meet me in a few hours" She giggled

Derek kissed her on her lips and he walked out "Okay Meredith, let's start for today" Lucy said

"Okay" She sighed

"I need you to transfer from the chair to the bed"

Meredith nodded and did exactly what Lucy told her, or at least she tried before her chair slipped away "Damnit those breaks" She sighed

"Try again, Meredith" Lucy said as she helped Meredith back in her chair

"Okay" She sighed, her legs slightly spasming underneath her from the stress and nerves off falling again

"Better, next time try to relocate your legs first"

"That would work better if I could feel them" She snapped before rolling her eyes "Can we go to the next thing, please? I need to get ready. I need to be able to take care of my daughter"

"Of course, Meredith. I was thinking of letting you work on transfering from the ground to the chair. It's one of the hardest things but it's also one of the most important things. Accidents will happen and you'll need to get back in" Lucy explained

...

"We're done for the day" Lucy told her

"Finally" Meredith sighed. She was exhausted. She texted Derek that she would go to his office to wait for him

"Be there in 20 min" He replied

Meredith made her way too his office, feeling very insecure about her situation until she wheeled into Bailey

"Hey, Bailey!"

"Hey, Meredith, done for today?"

"Yes, finally. I'm on my way to Derek's office. Zola's coming home today" She smiled

"I told you, Meredith! Now, come on. I need to head in the same direction"

Meredith was doing her best to follow Bailey but she liked this, someone who doesn't show too much pity, who doesn't blame herself for what happened. Someone who didn't need to wipe her ass or soaked her with soap.

"Miranda, any news on the case we discussed?"

"Yes, Meredith! You were right, she's pregnant. I told you we need you here."

"I.. I think I want to come back, but not for now. Everyone is staring and.. it's big" She said as they reached Derek's office

"Of course, Meredith. Whenever you're ready. And hey, I want to see you at that baseball game!" Bailey said before running off

Meredith sighed, she wasn't sure about the baseball game. She couldn't do a thing anyway. She would only keep Derek away from playing. She rolled into his office to wait for him as they would finally go home and see their beautiful daughter back, she may have lost the ability to walk, they won their daughter back and for now that was the most important thing.
