the light grey clouds slowly moved across the sky that seemed to darken a shade every minute. the once light blue color soon became a navy blue and it was merely past 5pm. stupid daylight savings, causing problems to anna's get together. it was the last day of november and it had been one full day aubrielle was moved in with the seavey brothers, and she was settling in quite nicely.

currently anna, nicolette, and hailey just finished setting up a wonderful baby shower. just how aubrielle asked, it was kept small. inside, there were bunches of pink and blue helium balloons that were tied with some string to a surface. on the counter tops there were blue and pink colored cupcakes to represent the traditional colors for a boy or a girl. there was a bowl of pasta christian was more than happy to prepare along with some tacos with it's ingredients in it's individual bowls, almost like a make your own taco bar. there was a punch bowl of juice and 3 two liters of soda. finally, there was a small basket filled with all sorts of stuff that would be brought up later for small games they can play.

meanwhile daniel and aubrielle were stuck waiting inside daniel's car because their hike had ended earlier and anna had to move everything from the outside to inside the house. one, because it seemed like it was going to rain soon. two, because it was colder than they expected. three, it got way darker earlier than they originally thought.

james was laughing hysterically sat on aubrielles lap who was turned to daniel because he was making weird noises. what can i say? toddlers are easily entertained. but with one quick knock and a small jump from aubrielle caused daniel to burst into laughter, "you got scared!"

"no i didn't," aubrielle mumbled before rolling down the window, "does this mean we can go inside now?"

"yeah, we live here and I never thought i would've been kicked out of my own house," daniel agreed, "i could've at least helped the surprise for shortcake,"

"no, because the surprise is for the both of you," anna answered, "and james was here because you took him on the hike and for entertainment," she lightly laughed before pulling open the passengers seat. after daniel rolled up the window she had rolled down and turned off the car, he got himself out of the car and walk over to aubrielle. "ready?" she asked and aubrielle eagerly nodded her head, readjusting james who was on her hip.

"okay!" anna cheered, "i'm gonna go in first and after a minute you guys can knock and come in," she explained

"why? we already know what it is, do we have to act like its a surprise?" daniel asked, slowly following his sister to the front door.

"you don't need to act because the set up will be a surprise," anna said, looking between the two before quickly going inside.

aubrielle hummed before speaking, "well, here goes nothing," she said and after a few seconds she knocked on the door. when there was no response daniel laughed softly, wrapping his arm around the girl's waist before pushing open the door.

a bunch of ruckus was let out when the two were in view. daniel lightly pushed aubrielle inside while he walked behind her. the two were greeted by a line of people: anna, nicolette, hailey, keri, jeff, christian, and tyler. some of them held phones in their hands to record the pairs reaction. aubrielle looked around the room and the wonderful set up that had accents of blue and pink. she was actually surprised that they set it all up in a few hours when they went on a hike.

blue and pink streamers were hung from the ceiling and there were even more balloons that were taped with it. there was a backdrop and half of it was pink and the other half was blue, most likely for photos. then there was a table that was filled with gifts. there were blue and pink fairy lights that were hung all the way around the living room pulling the baby shower together.
