BC: REUNIONS AND MEETINGS

bonus chapter:

reunions and meetings for everyone involving aubrielle.

this takes place a bit after the epilogue so the ages are the same and it's still 2025.

aubrielle anxiously rubbed her sweaty hands on the thighs of her light blue mom jeans. she was sitting in the passenger seat of daniel's car that was parked in a driveway. james was in the backseat singing the abc's and feredy was sleeping in her own seat. daniel brought his hand from the gear shift to her thigh, "you're going to be okay, everything is going to be okay, you got this," daniel assured and she nodded her head with a shaky inhale.

aubrielle still had no contact with her dad, a part of her wish he told her a reason but a much stronger part didn't want to know why he left her mom, why he acted the way he did to aubrielle, why he just ran away without a reason.

aubrielle had called her mom multiple times now. she finally mentioned james when feredy was born, and her mom mentioned her husband: she had got married. they eventually agreed to meetup, it had been around five years since she got kicked out. apologies had been made, issues had been solved between the pair. all what was left, was for aubrielle to get out of the car and knock on the door.

this time, she nodded her head more confidently. "i can do this, we can do this," she told herself before getting out of the car. once daniel watched her open the passenger door, a bigger smile reached his lips and he quickly got feredy out of his side of the car and carefully brought her to his side and she stayed asleep as he shut the door and walked over to aubrielle.

aubrielle smiled at her sleeping daughter as james grabbed her hand who had easily and eagerly climbed out of the car. he had been previously told that he was going to meet aubrielle's mom, grandma. at first he was confused because he thought he could only have one grandma but eventually he got it. or at least that's when they gave up the conversation.

aubrielle slowly walked to the door as she double checked the address on her phone before putting it in her back pocket. daniel was right behind her and went on the other side of her that james wasn't walking on. his right arm held feredy and his left hand naturally set on her back as the group of four walked to the doorstep.

aubrielle sucked in a breath before knocking on the door three times and ringing the doorbell once. she stepped back to daniels side and her shoulders sunk in relief when a familiar face opened the door. one who had almost unexpectedly came to her doorstep. one who she accepted her apartment to stay in.

"hey elle! it's been a while!" he cheered. aubrielle was a bit confused on why he was here. didn't he have a girlfriend who was pregnant? oh wait, she would've had her kid by now, how exciting! "oh my gosh, how did you get so big?" he asked after greeting aubrielle in a hug and squatting down in front of james. "hey daniel? you still jealous?" he taunted as he wiggled his eyebrows at him before opening the door wider.

"yeah, sorry about that," daniel mumbled as he followed aubrielle into the house, "how's your girlfriend? pregnancy went okay?"

"no- wait. yes! fantastic! the thing is, somehow there was a mistake and she ended up having twins. they're somewhere around here but watch out, they're monsters," he warned in a joking manner.
