As the music started Felix started doing a couple body rolls to one side and then to the other while the song started. Chan watched transfixed as Felix moved to all different places in the room sometimes on the floor and sometimes jumping. As the beat drop started Chan finally realized what song Felix was dancing to.
"Let's dance the night away!" It was at that point that Chan's awed face smoothed out into an unimpressed look and Felix fell on the floor, laughing, after seeing it. Chan crossed his arms raising an eyebrow at him.
"Not funny," Chan deadpanned as he watched the boy roll around on the floor clutching his stomach.
"But it was funny!" Felix shouted to him "You looked so transfixed by the dancing until the chorus! And don't look so unimpressed! Dance the Night Away is a masterpiece! You can't argue with me about that!" Chan just rolled his eyes and looked away from Felix shaking his head.
"Alright, fine." He turned back around to find Felix messing with his phone again. "You want to see me dance? Watch." Chan gulped after seeing Felix's eyes in the mirror. He was serious about this. The music started and Chan watched as Felix's demeanor completely changed. Throughout this whole night that they had been together he had been a joking ball of sunshine, but now... Now, man, if he had been a kitten before he was a tiger now. His eyes looked like they had darkened and he looked almost scary. He started dancing. The music was kind of sexy, but upbeat. Felix moved around the room dancing his heart out. When the instrumental in the middle started Chan noticed how much Felix was into this. When the music ended Felix dropped on the floor and threw an arm over his head from all the dancing he had just done. Sure, dancing requires a lot of strength and endurance, but that was about the only physical thing he really did and enjoyed. Unless he was upset, then he would go to the nearby gym and use the punching bag.
"That was some good dancing," Chan said, breaking the silence. Felix took his arm off of his face and looked over at Chan.
"Really?" He asked. He had never been super confident with his dancing skills and had only gone to dance class for two years when he was younger.
"Yeah, I thought it was pretty good. I mean I don't know much about dancing, but it looked pretty good to me." Chan shrugged and looked over at the younger to find him looking back at him with sparkling eyes.
"Thanks! I've never shown anyone my dancing since like second grade! Did you really think it was good? This is so exciting!" The corner of Chan's lip twitched when he saw Felix's smile. His eyes had almost disappeared and his cheeks were slightly flushed. Then a loud ringing noise rang through the room.
"Ah, that's my phone!" Felix ran over to his phone and picked it up. "Oh, it's my parents, excuse me one second, I need to answer this!" Chan nodded at Felix before picking his phone up to look at the time and listening in on the one side of the conversation he could hear.
"Yeah, I'm almost done.... I'll be home soon." Just then Chan dropped his phone, loudly.
"Am I here alone? No, Cha-" Chan shook his head rapidly mouthing "no" to Felix, since he didn't know if their parents knew each other, and Chan wasn't supposed to be out after eleven'o'clock.
"Nooo, uh, Chaaaerry my phone is here with me." Felix improvised while looking at Chan with wide eyes. Chan face-palmed at what the freckled boy had said and started packing up his stuff.
"Okay, let me just pack up and then I'll be home.... Alright, see you in a bit! Love you too! Mwah!" With that Felix hung up his phone and looked back over to Chan.
"Why can't I tell my parents that you're here?"
"Do you know Stephen Bang?" Chan asked.
"Yeah, his daughter, Victoria, is pretty popular at school, but she gets into a lot of trouble with the teachers and other students a lot. Why?" Felix spoke with his back turned as he shoved his shoes and speaker in the bag he had brought with him.
"He's my dad." Felix looked over at Chan with an eyebrow raised and his lip quirked as if waiting for him to start laughing and say it was joke. When that reaction didn't come Felix sucked in a breath and turned back around, grabbing a cloth and some Windex beofre wiping down the mirrors.
"I thought his son was named Christopher, and was home schooled. That's what Victoria says at least."
"Yea, of course that's what Victoria says, who would want a loser like me for a brother?" Chan sighed.
"Loser?" Felix asked, confused, "You're one of the most popular people at school."
"In High school. In the Middle school I went to I was a loser."
"Why?" Felix looked like he was getting more confused every second.
"That's not important. I just was." It was at this point that Felix decided that he needed to be this boy's friend no matter what. He did have a small crush on him, but it looked like he needed a friend first.
"Okay, sorry for pushing. I'm going to head out now. Do you want to walk as far as you can with me? I don't know where you live, but I'm assuming you live somewhat close." Felix put the cleaning supplies away before strapping his bag on and walking over to the blonde sitting on the floor. Chan looked up at Felix and hesitated before saying,
"Sure. But I don't talk much when I'm walking." Felix shrugged,
"That's fine! We don't have to talk, let's just walk." He held out a hand. Chan grabbed it before standing up with the younger's help. Packing up his laptop he walked over to the door where Felix was waiting. They walked out the door, Felix turning around to lock and check the door. Then he grabbed his bike and jogged over to Chan who was a little bit ahead of him. They walked together in silence for a bit before Chan turned to Felix and said,
"This is me." Felix looked at the number memorizing it and the houses around it.
"Okay! I'll see you tomorrow! Would you mind terribly if we walked to school together tomorrow?" He asked.
"No, that's fine. Just be careful about my sister."
"Okayyy... Um, so what time do you normally leave?"
"Normally at around 8:45 or so." Chan looked over at the house as a light turned on. "Shoot, I gotta go, now! I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" He ran to the side yard to a trellis propped up against the side of the house before securing his bag tightly and climbing up. He looked back over to see Felix still at the edge of the sidewalk. He tried to shoo him away quickly, but Felix just smirked and waved back. Then the front door opened.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Stephen Bang asked looking suspiciously at the boy that was standing at the head of his sidewalk.
"Oh! Hello sir!" he bowed his head slightly before looking back up with a big smile on his face, "My name's Felix! I live at house number 4***. I forgot my bag at the park and went out to get it and got distracted on my way back and now I don't know where I am. Would you mind telling me where I am? I need to get back quickly!" Stephen narrowed his eyes at the brightly smiling boy in front of him. Then his face softened as he saw a bead of sweat going down the boys temple.
"If you go to the next intersection and turn left that should be your road. Be careful next time, okay?" The boys face brightened considerably and he bowed his head again and again saying,
"Thank you so much sir! I'm so sorry for bothering you! It was nice to see you though!" Then he waved before walking away with a slight spring in his step. Stephen shook his head slightly before going back inside his house and back to bed. He had gone out because he thought he heard his son's voice, but it turned out to just be the Lee's kid getting lost again. He was a nice kid though, super smiley and innocent, a slight smile crossed the mans face as he drifted off to sleep. Two rooms over, Chan was also going to sleep with thoughts of the freckled boy.
A/N: Hi! I hope you enjoyed this chapter of Sides! We are seeing some different sides (no pun intended) of the characters. The story, in my opinion, should get better from here as I get better at writing and punctuation, hehehe... Anyways, come back next week for the next chapter, or if you're reading it later, I'll see you in a couple seconds! Signing out, Blueberrt Muffun :) <3
