Chan was mad. Of course the same day that he finally figured out that he liked Felix, the boy would walk into the cafeteria with a girl. His eyes narrowed as the girl smiled at Felix, eyes all aglow. And he didn't even register when Felix turned around and looked at him. He only started to relax when the younger boy started walking toward him. It was then that he realized he had crushed the can of soda he had in his hands.
"Dude..." Lucas sighed beside him. "You need to chill. You just crushed an entire Coke can with the soda in it." Chan smiled sheepishly and grabbed a napkin beginning to wipe the sticky liquid off if his hands.
Felix was steadily making his way over to the table, and Chan watched him walk. He had a teasing smile on his face and his hands were in his pockets. When he reached the table he swung himself gracefully onto a seat and leaned on the table.
"So..." He started. "Is this a new exercise? Crushing Coke cans? Or what?" Chan grinned.
"I guess you could say that." He replied, still cleaning up the spilled soda. "Or a stress reliever." He mumbled under his breath. Felix giggled, then he turned to the blue haired boy who was sitting at the table with them. Lucas noticed that Felix was looking at him and tensed noticeably, keeping his gaze on the table .
"Hey Lucas." Was all Felix said.
"H-hi." Lucas breathed out. "Look I wanted to apologize for the, uh..."
"It's fine." Felix cut him off with a grin. "I know you probably didn't actually want to do that."
"I didn't. Ryan was threatening some things." Lucas affirmed.
"That stupid... What was he threatening?" Felix growled.
"Um... To do something not school appropriate, and not law appropriate, to my sister..." Lucas mumbled. He was suddenly very scared of the other boy, though he was much smaller than himself.
"Are you freaking kidding me?" Felix exploded. "That man's got another thing coming. I wonder if that's what he was going to do with Makayla, too..."
"Oh, is that your little girlfriend's name?" Chan cut into the conversation. He sounded bitter and when Felix looked at him, he was sulking.
"Girlfriend...? We just met!" The younger boy was shocked, what was Chan thinking?
"So what?" Chan replied. "There are plenty of people who start dating when they first meet."
"Were you even listening to the conversation?" Felix leaned forward on the table. "I rescued her from Ryan."
"Yeah, and she probably started swooning and asked you to be her boyfriend, and you got caught up in the moment and said yes." Chan said, frustration present in his voice.
"What in the world is that supposed to mean?" Felix asked.
"Oh, come on. I wasn't born yesterday. You already told me you were bi, that means women and men. And I'm guessing that Makayla is a woman. So..." Chan gestured dramatically with his hands.
"I still have a type!" Felix raised his voice slightly. "Honestly how dumb can you get? Just because I'm interested in men and women doesn't mean I want to date every single human."
"Don't call me dumb." Chan growled.
"And why not?" Felix challenged him. "You're sure acting like it.
"No, you're being dumb. Everybody's going to want to flirt with you. Have you seen yourself? I mean, what did she ask you before you came to sit here?" Chan rolled his eyes.
"Well, frankly that's none of your business, but she asked if I wanted to sit with her-"
"See?"
"And her friends. Why are you acting like this?" Felix was trying to keep his cool. After all they were in the middle of the cafeteria.
"Why wouldn't I be? You're being naive." Chan grumbled.
"Dude. What is your problem?" Felix exclaimed. He stood up and took a hold of Chan's arm and dragged him out of the cafeteria. Everybody was looking at them now, but Felix didn't care. Chan simply let himself get dragged, but you could almost see the steam coming out of his ears.
Once they were in the hallway, Felix let go of Chan's hand and whipped around to face him.
"Now, do you want to explain what's gotten you all huffy, or am I just going to have to ask someone else if I can stay with them. Maybe Lucas?" He crossed his arms and leaned back on his heels.
"No." Chan snarled. "Why would you ask Lucas? He literally posted that stuff about you."
"And? He just apologized and I don't hold grudges. And why are you bringing that up? You were sitting with him first." Felix retorted.
"So what? Nobody told you to come sit with us." Chan scoffed. Felix was starting to lose his temper. Chan was being an absolute jerk and he had no idea why.
"You said that I could come sit with you. If you didn't want me to, why did you offer?" Felix burst out, gesturing wildly with his hands.
"Because I wanted you to sit with me!" Both of the boys voices were getting louder.
"And I did. So I don't know why you're getting so upset if I literally did what you wanted." Felix responded.
"No, you didn't." Chan crossed his arms.
"Then who was I sitting with? Cause last I checked you didn't have an identical twin who also answers to the name Chan." Felix gritted his teeth.
"I wanted you to sit with me, not Lucas." Chan said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Sir. I was sitting at a table with you and Lucas. I don't know what that apparently non-existent brain of yours is on about, but I was sitting with you." Felix was getting really mad now. What was with Chan today?
"Yeah, whatever. You may as well have been just sitting with Lucas. The only thing you said to me when you sat down was something about exercise. Then you were just talking to Lucas." Chan was also getting mad. Why was Felix not understanding him?
"Dude, I can't just talk to you if there's another person at the table. Then Lucas would feel like you do now. Left out." Felix tried to explain.
"Well at least try to include me in the conversation." Chan retorted.
"I never excluded you. You were welcome to join in at any time." Felix said desperately. "Why are you upset about that?"
"Because I'm jealous!" Chan finally burst. He was breathing hard and his face was flushed, not only from anger but from the growing embarrassment that was coming on.
"Jealous of what? And why?" Felix asked.
"Of Lucas. Because you were giving him all of your attention." Chan grumbled.
"Okay...? First of all, I wasn't giving him all my attention we were just having a conversation and it was almost done. Secondly, you were sitting there too. And third, that still doesn't explain why you're jealous." Felix spoke calmly and measuredly, inside he was having a fit, but he tried to keep himself calm.
"Uh... See, the thing is...." Chan hesitated.
"Oh, just spit it out." Felix interrupted. "You were jealous of Lucas because he was getting 'all my attention' but you still didn't tell me-"
"Because I like you!"
